Parents

That night Tonowari stayed next to me, holding me close and reassuring me that I was all he wanted

"Morning my angel" he whispered into my braids as my head laid on his chest

"Good morning handsome" I said sitting up and straddling his hips, placing my hands along his chest

"What are we going to do today?" I asked

"I think we should talk to my parents, better to do it now then wait" he said rubbing my thighs

"Okay but what if they say no"

"I'll convince them, either way we will be together, don't worry"

"Okay let's get this over with"

We stood up, he took my hand and placed a gentle kiss to it all while making eye contact

"It'll be okay"

He held my hand as we walked over to his family pod and I could feel my heart pounding against my chest

"Mother.....Father can we talk for a moment?" He asked as we sat in front of them

"What is it son?" His father asked as they sat down as well

"I want your blessing, y/n is meant to be with me I know of it, I feel it in my spirit that Eywa brought her to me, I do not wish to be mated to Ronal"

There was a moment of silence where I could swear everyone could hear my heart it was that silent, I could see Tonowari tense next to me and by the looks on his mothers face, we should be nervous

"Tonowari how dare you go against our wishes, Ronal is perfectly suited to be your mate, she is strong and is a good fighter she is fit to help you rule, this forest dweller is not, she will be of no help to you, you will not be with her and you are no longer allowed to see her and that's final" his mother stated harsh fully

I could feel my heart crush, I knew this would happen, I knew I wouldn't be able to live up to the Metkayina's standards

"But mother...."

"No you will listen to me Tonowari"

"Is it so bad for him to want to be with her, just give them a chance" his dad said giving me some hope 

"Do you really want this clan to be led by someone who knows nothing and can't contribute?"

"I suppose but Tonowari is teaching her"

They kept arguing amongst each other and I didn't know how much longer I could keep myself composed

I glanced over at Tonowari and his expression showed the same as mine, sad, heartbroken, I didn't want to cause a problem for his family but I also couldn't let him go

My mind raced with what to do and my heart just wanted to me happy for once

"Tonowari, take her and leave while I talk to your mother" Tonowari took my hand and rushed me out of the pod

We walked in silence until we reached our cave, he paced back and forth after he dropped my hand, he ran his hands through his hair and I could see how stressed he was

"Tonowari just breathe, calm down" I said placing my hand on his shoulder

He looked up at me and I could see the tears clouding his eye line

"Oh baby it'll be okay" I said pulling him down into a hug

Just in one day it goes from him consoling me to now me consoling him, I just wanted us to be happy together
