It had been a few days since the day on the dock, Y/N and Laurance hadn't talked to each other since that day.
Strangely, Aaron had been gone for a bit too. It was oddly quiet, in both Phoenix Drop and New Phoenix Drop, as she had dubbed it. Though she was comfortable with the quiet. She used most of her time training Nekoette and herself.
Y/N crouched next to Nekoette, keeping am eye on the younger girl's technique. She felt pride for the progress that she was making, Nekoette had been getting closer and closer to the middle of the target.
The day wasn't too windy so it was a great day to just do a little bit of practicing. Then she would take the whole family to have a picnic. With the exception of Dante since he's out on patrol.
Nekoette let out a short breath as she let the arrow loose, it landing smack dab in the middle of the target. It took them both a short while to realize but when they did they both started jumping up and down excitedly. Y/N picked her up and spun her around, the girl giggling excitedly.
"You did it!"
"All thanks to Y/N~Chan!"
Y/N walked over to the target to pull out the arrow, "Let's see if you can get it again," she walked back towards Nekoette.
The older girl stood there smiling softly watching as Nekoette loaded the next arrow releasing it shortly after.
A few more arrows were fired before Kawaii~Chan peeked her head out looking at the girls fondly. "Kawaii~Chan finished dinner girls!" The girls quickly picked up the arrows that had missed the target by a long shot. After doing so they go inside and head down to the basement where the weapons rack is.
Y/N helps Nekoette up the ladder before going up herself. When they get up there Kawaii~Chan was already beginning to pack their food into a basket that looked to be poorly weaved. Y/N chuckled lightly as she recognized the basket.
"You still have it?" Kawaii~Chan smiles at her, "Of course Kawaii~Chan kept it!"
"But it's so poorly made," she laughed as she went up to Kawaii~Chan.
"But Y/N~Chan made it with love! Kawaii~Chan just had to!" She patted Y/N's hand before continuing on with packing.
Y/N smiled as she remembered that day, it was probably one of her fondest memories.
When Y/N had been in Phoenix Drop for a whole year, she wanted to give back to Dante, Kawaii~Chan, and Nekoette for taking her in. They could've just left her alone, but they didn't. She didn't really have anything to her name at the time but she remembered that her mom had tried to teach her how to weave a basket.
She spent days finding materials then weaving the basket, accidentally snagging her fingers a bunch of times on the straw and sticks.
Needless to say, when she knocked on their door and she handed them a basket, they were pleasantly surprised. And at that moment they realized just how much they meant to her.
She was snapped out of her thoughts by Nekoette tugging at her shirt, "Y/N~Chan?"
"Hmm?"
"Momma says to come outside,"
"Right, sorry, let's go!"
She steps outside, Kawaii~Chan and Nekoette have already set up everything. They all sit down and begin eating and chatting. "So Y/N~Chan, how is the training going?" The woman sounded excited to hear of her daughter's progress. Y/N smiles proudly, "Well I think you'll be happy to hear that Nekoette was able to hit the middle of the target multiple times!"
