"Are you ready to go in then?" Amber grabs Y/N's wrist, pulling her towards where the doorway must be.

"Yeah.." She wasn't too confident that she could act like a thief. Though, she decided on her own that it would be best for her not to speak unless spoken to. She grabbed her bow, putting it over her shoulder once again.

Amber brought out her Thieves Sigil and pressed it up against the assumed hidden doorway. It worked and the doorway eventually was revealed to them.

It closed right after they went through it. The stone stairs led the way to an open door where Y/N could hear light chatter echoing off the walls.

After Y/N closed the door behind them, she saw that Amber had been stopped by what seemed to be a guard.

"I thought you were banned from coming here until you learned to become a better thief!" He looks over at Y/N, looking her up and down, "And who is this person with you??"

Y/N wasn't told that Amber was banned but it was really a given seeing as she's not that great at the whole thievery thing.

"Oh her..? She's an aspiring member!" She lifts up the music box excitedly to show the guard, "Also, I brought this!"

The guards looked pleasantly surprised at the sight of the music box, his expression hardening when he realized the emotion he was showing, "Most of the guild members have been having a hard time trying to find one.. just in time too since the boss is getting more and more cranky due to sleep loss.."

"Well, since I found one.. would you let me and my friend take the Thieves test? Please?" Amber had drawn out the last e in please, sounding a bit like a child but Y/N wouldn't judge.

Not out loud at least.

"Amber, we've told you time and time again, you keep failing because you're just not ruthless enough," he shrugs. Y/N couldn't help but let out a small chuckle upon hearing that, though she disguised it as a cough.

Amber sent a short glare her way, Y/N only being able to see her eyes still.

"This was stolen from a peasant!" She points at the box and Y/N raises an eyebrow, a peasant, Aphmau sure isn't a peasant.

"..and?"

"I cut her good too! Her face definitely isn't pretty anymore!!" Her voice had gone really high pitched and too excited, anyone who wasn't dumb could tell she was lying.

The man simply turns her down once again, telling her that she's still terrible at lying.

Her shoulders slump, "You know I have nowhere else to go.."

"Amber.. you're a good girl, why don't you just go back to the village and take your little friend with you?" He nods over at Y/N who was still just standing there, expressionless under the mask.

"I can't! ..Please??" Amber sounded so desperate that Y/N actually pitied her. Poor girl must not have any family to care for her..

The guard contemplated the request before sighing and giving, letting them both in. Amber hops up and down in excitement, "Yay!! Thank you!!"

They walked in and the room was really circular, having water flowing down in the middle. A bridge forked in two directions was at the opposite end.

They had some crates all around.

Amber stops, turning around once they're out of earshot of the guard. "Whew! I'm glad Kalzul is a softie when it comes to me!"

Y/N hums in response, "So where do we go from here?" The hood she had on was sliding a bit so Amber leaned forward to fix it for her, "We go see the boss!!"

She grabs Y/N's hand and leads the way, weaving around some tables and into a small room. It had an iron door but Amber wasn't looking at that. Instead she was looking at the wall, looking for something.

When she found it, the wall opened and revealed a secret entrance to the boss's room. Y/N had assumed it was that anyway.

She was wrong, they went into a little tunnel and came back out to another circular room with forking bridges that went over the water.

Rather than cowering, Y/N walked in confidently, she's stolen things before. Definitely a better pickpocket than little miss amber over here since she never got caught.

They stopped in front of a door and Amber straightened her outfit and took her mask off of her face, "How do I look? I want to make an impression."

Y/N actually hadn't actually seen Amber's face so she couldn't help but stare. She looked so young and she was very pretty to say the least.

"Uhm, you look good," That was all she could say without feeling awkward.

"Great!" She runs in, followed by Y/N. The room was sort of small but it had some diamonds in the walls. The boss had gold bars on the table as well.

Y/N's eyebrows went up a bit, interested in this room. She didn reven notice the person that Amber went up to and tapped on the back.

"Boss~!"

The person's shoulder slump as they let out a loud sigh, "Amber.. I thought I told you to come back when you've got that smile wiped off your face and you start acting like a real thief."

There were some bookshelves to the right that Y/N didn't notice since the gold bars were so shiny.

"Boss, look! I stole this music box for you!"

"Oh?" Amber takes that as an invite, she winds the box up and sets it down on the table. The boss makes her way over to it, watching as the ballerina spins, playing a lovely tune.

Y/N chews her bottom lip, as the boss says, "This music.. it's so soothing.."

"S-so I did a good job?"

"Yes, you might just be useful after all. Also.. who's your friend here, they better not be any trouble."

"This is Ophelia, she is a Meif'wa and she wants to join the Guild too!"

The boss looks at Y/N who stood behind the both of them, her eyes looking past them, at the music box.

"Amber, be a darling and leave the room so I can talk to Ophelia alone." This snaps Y/N's attention to the boss, staring right at her. Amber doesn't hesitate to leave, Y/N crossing her arms over her chest.

"Well aren't you a cutie," the boss looks her up and down.

"Well you can barely see my face and I haven't talked enough for you to call me that.." she squinted her eyes at the boss, "but sure. 'cute'"

The lady in front of her chuckles at her response, "Hmm, now little Ophelia, why do you want to join the Thieves Guild?"

"I came here looking for information on some friends that went missing recently if I'm being honest. They were believed to be taken by another Meif'wa by the name of Michi." She spoke clearly and confidently, this lady didn't intimidate her one bit.

"Michi.. she has been around here.. very recently actually,"

"Really? Can you tell me why?"

The boss only smirks, "Now, now, information is just as valuable as material possessions. If you want more information, you'll have to join our guild and swear your loyalty to us, only then will I tell you anything further."

This is what made her realize that she would have to go without contact for a while. Laurance and the others wouldn't know where she was at.

Would they care?

Of course they would, they cared the time she was about to be forced into marriage, why wouldn't they care this time?

But, she needed to find Michi. The girl has Magicks and could be doing anything to Zoey, Levin, and Malachi. As soon as she got done doing the guild, the sooner she could get the information.

"Alright, how do I join?"
