The seats were almost full, I stood under the altar to the left of Kenmur. Admittedly, I was sort of surprised that he asked me to be his best man.

As the seats filled up, I looked around to see if I could spot Ophelia. No luck.

The ceremony had already started by this time. Maybe she wasn't coming after all. I sighed before putting on a small smile as Dimitri and Nekoette walked down the aisle. Nekoette was giggling, spreading the flowers out nicely on the ground while Dimitri held the rings.

I was just about to head off the altar when one of the people in the crowd raised their head and looked right at me.

Relief flooded through me as Ophelia's E/C eyes met mine. Her gentle stare was returned by my own, all I could think about now was her. How brave she was for coming here and allowing herself to see the beautiful wedding.

She smiled, looking back as Emmalyn came down the aisle slowly. A smile was plastered over my face as I tried my hardest not to glance at Ophelia every once in a while.

"Do you, Kenmur, take emmlyan to be your darrrling wife?" Chad asked, looking really excited.

"I do."

"And do you, Emmalyn, take Kenmur, in this union, to be your dashing husband?"

"I do."

Chad jumped up and down excitedly, book in hand, "I now announce you husband and wife, you may smooch the bride!"

Emmalyn and Kenmur seal their marriage with a kiss, everyone stands up, clapping for the two. Ophelia included, she looked happy to be here.

That made me really happy.

Emmalyn and Kenmur held each, dancing for the first time after becoming husband and wife. Seeing them so happy made my mind wander a bit. Thinking about marriage for me is too early.

I was looking around, about to sit at a table when I saw Ophelia. She was talking to Nekoette, who was on her back. I didn't get the chance to see her that well back at the ceremony. But now that I look at her, she looks beautiful, as usual of course.

She was wearing (dress of your choice 😚) with matching shoes and her hair was nicely brushed. Nekoette had hopped off of Ophelia's back after spotting me, "Come dance with Lia~Chan!!"

The little girl grabbed my hand and took me over to Ophelia. She looked a little out of breath but she still greeted me with a bright smile, "Hey Laurance."

"So you were able to make it.."

"Even if I didn't want to, your sister made this beautiful dress.. and I'm sure she would hunt me down if I didn't wear it." She scratched the back of her neck, I lifted my eyebrows, "Well you're not wrong-"

"But you look really nice tonight," we blurted out at the same time. "Ah.." My face was surely getting a little pink but she didn't seem to notice since she was busy avoiding eye contact.

"Dance!!" Nekoette shouted, standing there watching us.

"Er.. was she there the whole time?" I asked, looking at her, then Ophelia.

"I'm pretty sure."

"Well," I held out my hand, "Would you like to dance, my Little Lady?"

Ophelia's hand reached for mine slowly, "Alright," Her usually louder voice sounded quiet at that moment. It was really cute.

Since it was a slow dance, I gently placed her hands around my neck while my hands went on her waist. I could tell that she was avoiding eye contact but we started dancing, we weren't the only ones, most people found their lover and started dancing as well.

I look down at the girl, "Ophelia,"

"Yeah..?"

"I think you stepped on my foot," I whisper, laughing a little bit.

That put her into a giggling fit, "Oh my Irene- I'm so sorry!"

"It's alright, I can tell you've never danced before." Giving her reassurance, it still takes a while to calm her down. But her laughter was contagious, I couldn't help laughing along.

We fell into a comfortable silence, Ophelia eventually looking up at me with a smile. "Thanks for convincing me to come here."

"I just wanted to see you have a good time." I was having a good time too. In all honesty, it was easy to forget about my worries with her. Everything with her, everything that I did felt effortless.

"Well thanks to you and Nekoette over there, I'm having an amazing time." She looks over at Nekoette who was running around with Dimitri.

"And with you," she continued, "I feel safe,"

My heart started beating faster as she said that. "Not only that but I feel like I could overcome more with you."

"Do-" I gulped, not expecting this sudden confession, "Do you really mean that..?"

"Of course, I haven't known you for long but I'd be glad to know you for the rest of my life, Laurance." Her words rang in my head, it took a while to process. But honestly I was so confused on where we were with our relationship.

Were we really just friends..?

Of course, I've been wishing for a while now to be with her.

And now that she told me all of that, it just makes me want to be around her more often.

Ophelia had gotten tired so I decided to walk her to her house. The reception was still going on surprisingly, even though there were a lot of older people there. “I had fun tonight, Laurance, I mean it.” She says while walking, looking forward. I chuckle, “It was pretty fun, but you really liked that cake huh?” Ophelia herself had actually eaten her slice and mine, which I didn’t mind because I don’t even really eat cake that often.

“Oh it was delicious, Kawaii~Chan is the best when it comes to baking.”

“Of course she is, kinda amazing how a wedding that nice could be put together in two days.”

“Aphmau really did her best,”

It wasn’t long before we got to her house. She stood there staring at her door, as if she was contemplating something. “Hmm, Laurance, do you mind waiting out here..?” I lifted my eyebrows but nodded, she went inside and got something, coming back out quickly.

She pulls the green ring she had on her finger off. "While we were in Meteli I saw these beautiful bamboo rings and I bought them."

She shows me the other ring, a F/C one. "I out on the green one, but it was supposed to be for you." Putting the ring in my hand, she puts on the F/C one.

It was cute, I wasn't going to lie but I had to do something. "Ophelia, no.." I put the green one back on her finger and grabbed the F/C one, putting it on the same finger she had hers on.

"There, you have mine and I have yours." I grinned, Ophelia chuckled, "I guess that works too.."

"I should probably go inside though, you should go get some sleep. O'kasis needs to be discussed tomorrow." She closed the ring box, "Good night Laurance."

"Night Little Lady," I ruffle her hair before walking away, back to the treehouse since I actually don't really have a house. Looking at the ring, I think about all the things she had said to me before.

Maybe this was some sort of promise ring, that or I'm thinking way too hard about this. Either way, the fact that she thought about me and got me a ring made my heart flutter.

Honestly I just wanted to be with her.. but with all these problems going on, a relationship should be the last thing on my mind. Once all of this is finished, maybe then I'd finally get the guts to tell her,

"I love you.."
