Howl at the moon

Chapter 4

I froze as the steps got closer. I whimpered as Max let out a low growl. I sunk to the ground and covered my paws with my eyes. The footsteps got closer and closer until that were right in front of me. Max howled. I looked up and saw Connor above me in awe.

"Woah! The white wolf! Your THE white wolf!" He yelled. Max growled and stepped in front of me.

"And you must be her boyfriend." Connor said smiling and petting Max. Max snapped at his hand. Connor stood up.

"Hm, your related." I nudged his hand. Trying to say yes.

"Ooh! Cousins!" He said. Max looked at me and growled.

"I need to show everyone you!" He said about to run off. I howled and whimpered. He turned around and I turned my puppy face on.

"Oh... " he said slowly walking towards me. "I'm sorry... I....I won't tell anyone. It's our little secret, ok?" I howled and max and I ran off into the dense forest. We were halfway home when we saw J and Caleb walking around.

"Max! Sam! Where the fuck are you!?" They yelled. I stepped back into the darkness. Max nudged me forward and I huffed. I walked forward to J with my head down.

"There they are!" Caleb yelled, running after me. He hugged my furry neck. It felt weird with his skin against my fur.

"Your in deep shit." He said as J walked over. Max came and sat beside me. Neither of us wanted to shift.

"Shift." J said sternly, his eyes turning black. I put my head down.

"Shift you fucking idiots!" He screamed. Max shifted but I didn't. I started to walk towards the house. J came up behind me and put his hand up. I put my paw up over my head, ready for the worst punishment. I sat there waiting and waiting. I opened my eyes to see J with his hand up, his eyes back to normal color.

"Sam, shift." He said softly. I shook my head and shivered to tell him I was cold. He nodded and started to pet my neck. We walked into the house with Max and Caleb on our hips.

" Don't pull anything like that again!" Aunt Nina said as we walked into the house, I still didn't shift. She wrapped her wrinkly arms around my furry neck. I pulled away and walked up to my room. I planned on staying wolf all night tonight. I didn't feel like shifting.

It was 3 AM when I heard my door open. J came in and sat on the edge of my bed.

"Sam, I can tell that you haven't shifted yet." He said while rubbing my white fur on my back. I sighed and shifted, finding that my clothes were soaking wet.

" I'm so sorry J, it wasn't my fault Max-" he cut me off.

"I know, max told me the whole story. Neither of you are in trouble." He said. I hugged his neck and he chuckled.

"Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!" I said giving him a kiss.

"Don't ever pull anything like that again. That boy could have been a hunter Sam, no more sneaking out past 6. Alright?" I promised and he left the room. I fell asleep and dreamed about my parents.
