LXX. scattered thoughts

Halfway through their talks, while waiting for Tetsuya, Both Captains of Too and Kaijo, called in their Team's Ace for an Emergency Meeting, none wanted to leave but as soon as their Coaches had gone on the line neither was left to stay with her and so she was left to her own devices at Maji, with her Fries and smoothie, thoughts scattered as there was no one or nothing else to distract her from its usual path for 2 weeks now.

2 Weeks...

14 days...

practically 336 hours now...

and just about 20,160 minutes.

She's been keeping her distance from Ryoma for 2 weeks now, evidently; it wasn't as subtle as she hoped it would be, even so, here they are now, and she knows he is almost about to hit the roof with that attitude of his, but the circumstances aren't really making it easier for her, not when she can see her looking at him in adoration, not when he does nothing to contradict the teasings between him and her, not when he doesn't negate her advances, not when she knows that he had gone out with her, that even though most of it were a setup, he still stayed and went through with it when he can just leave if he really wanted to, not when she's very sure of her feelings for him and not when she has no idea of his feelings.

She knows that she likes him, she just doesn't dare to put a name on her feelings for him, but after everything... it was hard not to. She liked the way he mostly stays by her side, how she neither have to speak to understand each other, how they know what the other wanted with a mere look, how protective he is of her, even though sometimes his actions and words are almost borderline possessive... she liked it... because it's him, she knows that he will put her feelings first if push comes to shove, she too will do the same if the situation asks for it, however, the circumstances at the moment are vague, and she doesn't do vague, if unsure, she steps back, stay silent and watch... Observing and doing nothing to affect everything, she hadn't taken into account that doing nothing and being silent will already be affecting everything itself.

she sighed as she continued to munch on her food, while absent-mindedly watching the people on the street from the window she currently sits at, it was then she received a message from Tetsuya, saying he can't make it, reasoning that he'll be practicing the drive she showed her once, this had made her perked up, the next messages though, made her grin and chuckle.

TETSU:
I'll incorporate it into my own play though,
TETSU:
So, I'm not copying you,
TETSU:
More like I'm taking inspiration from your play.

YUKI:
Well then, I'll be waiting to see it. Who're your next Opponents?

TETSU:
Senshinkan

YUKI:
Eh? The 'Kings' something?
YUKI:
I can already guess the outcome,
though I won't spoil it for you.
hehe

TETSU:
Shutoku will also be playing at the same time as ours
on the other side of the courts.

YUKI:
Unless there's a Miracle or an Uncrowned it won't be as interesting for me.
YUKI:
Who are they going to play with?

TETSU:
Kirisaki Daichi

she froze.

YUKI:
Kirisaki Daichi?

TETSU:
Mmn

The very team that had injured Kiyoshi Teppei during his first year, I remember, Riko-nee was crying over it when she called me about it, I wasn't able to see any records of the game but according to her, it was all an intentional injury, all targeting Kiyoshi himself.

They practically ended his high school basketball career then and there, and seeing that he has returned, I doubt he had come back in full health, according to the injury it would have demanded surgery, and the process would have made him unable to play basketball for the rest of his high school career, playing against them again will be nasty and critical.

TETSU:
Yu-chan... I'll see you in one of our games, right?
TETSU:
You'll watch our match with Shutoku, right?
TETSU:
With Midorima-kun...

she sighed and smiled before replying a yes and leaving for home, only for her smile to fall upon seeing a group of students on the other side of the street just as she was about to open the glass doors, there Ryoma's friend Horio, Kachiro, and Mizuno seemed to be bickering in front, followed by an overexcited Tomoka who seemed to be too keen on joining on the bickering, leaving a flustered Ryuzaki (who is by the way not wearing her uniform properly, isn't she cold?)  who's talking to an as always pokerfaced Ryoma, she watched them pass by as she just stood there, she saw Ryoma smirked then he spoke, what he did next made her blood run cold though... He stopped walking and removed his Gakuran, leaving him in his white shirt and handing it to Ryuzaki who blushed deeper than she already has as she accepted it and excitedly wore it, Ryoma, in turn, pulled out his Seigaku Jacket and wore it.

A wry smile grew on her face as she looked down at her shoes. Was that the answer? Who is she kidding? That was enough for her, right?

... Right?

"Wow," she muttered flatly as she shook her head and continued stepping out, eyes down as she made her way back to her place, she turned had placed her phone in silent and placed her earbuds to let herself drown in the music, rather than her thoughts.

She hadn't realized that just a few steps behind Ryoma and Ryuzaki, the other Seigaku Regulars were walking, and 2 people had seen her as she was about to step out and stop, and another one saw her, as she turned around the corner with a wry smile, Ryuzaki saw her, but she hadn't said anything to Ryoma nor the others, not knowing she was being observed as she did so.

Ryoma had walked straight to the Hanazakari Residence only to sigh upon seeing no light at all, he was determined to talk to Yuki, only to find the house so dark... it looked wrong for him, he knows Yuki always leave a light open whenever the skies started getting dark, and it's too early for her to be asleep and too late for her to be out, but where is she? is she already asleep? he sighed and started walking back home, taking a couple of turns to look back up, hoping to see her, but no Yuki nor a shadow was seen.

Where is Yuki? She's in her room Okay, Lying on her bed, staring at the Ceilings as Music and darkness drowned her, shadows of the trees swaying from the outside can be seen on her walls as she opted for the darkness, and with that, she had fallen asleep.

Ohoraaaayt~ I'm so happy I got to update, but the chapter title is also me hahaha

almost put in scatter-brain haha.

IDK why I made it like this, I'm just going with the flow, be that as it may, thank you for taking your time and reading my story, I love you, people! I think I can sleep now, my mind's not letting me sleep unless I update. 😅😅😅
