Ch. 7 A robbery went wrong

Cornelius and the dog Patronus appeared outside of Potter's Cottage. The Wizard looked forward, and his brown eyes widened when he saw the state of the Cottage.

' What happened here?' Cornelius internally asked. His brown eyes blinked when he saw the dog Patronus walking towards the Cottage. He pulled out his wand from his wand holster and looked at his surroundings warily.

Cornelius' right hand tightly grasped his wand. He walks behind the dog Patronus towards the Cottage. He enters the place and sees Sirius inside the living room with Tulip and Harry in his arms.

" Sirius," Cornelius calls out, grabbing Sirius' attention.

Sirius turns around and looks relieved when he sees Cornelius. Tears welled up in his gray eyes, feeling emotional because of what had happened.

" What happened?" Cornelius softly asked, not wanting to frighten Tulip and Harry. He walks towards Sirius and stands beside him.

" Lord Voldypants happened," Sirius murmured, still in shock.

Cornelius looked at Sirius with mixed emotions.

" He-He killed Lily. He-He also hurt James." Sirius turns his gaze to an unconscious James.

Cornelius turns his gaze to an unconscious James. He looked at the other Wizard with mixed emotions. He paled when he saw the massive wooden piece in James' chest.

" Who would-Who would betray them?" Cornelius asked.

" He didn't mean to," Sirius murmured.

" He?" Cornelius turns his gaze to Sirius.

Sirius hands Peter's Howlers to Cornelius while looking at James with mixed emotions.

" I-I don't know what to do." Sirius holds Tulip and Harry close to him.

Cornelius silently read Peter's Howlers and learned that James and Lily had put him as their Secret Keeper and thus kept his distance from Tulip and Harry.

" From reading these Howlers, your friend loves the twins dearly." Cornelius turns his gaze to Sirius.

Sirius nodded. " James' last words to me before he fell asleep was that Peter didn't do it and that he must have gotten kidnapped and tortured for their information." He explained.

Cornelius listened and nodded. " We must take James, Lily, and the twins somewhere safe." He looks at Sirius.

" But where? Everyone is tense because we are in the middle of a war." Sirius asked.

" Let's go to the Muggle world. We can call an ambulance to take James, Lily, and the twins to the hospital. They will be safe from the Wizarding World." Cornelius responded.

" How can we explain all of this to the Muggles?" Sirius asked while motioning to the rubble.

" A robbery went wrong. Muggles will believe that immediately." Cornelius reassured.

" And how will get the Muggles to come here?" Sirius asked.

" Lily should have a Muggle phone somewhere in the house, right?" Cornelius asked.

Sirius looked at Cornelius as though he was a genius. He looked at his surroundings and spotted a house phone on a stand next to the couch.

" That's the house phone Lily must have used to communicate with her Muggle Sister." Sirius points to the house phone.

Cornelius nodded. He walks towards the house phone, grabs it, and dials 999, the national emergency response service in the UK.
