Never Really Over

chapter 18

Mason's pov

(Just to clarify , I know Ben and mason wouldn't act like this. It's just for the purpose of the book)

The game had ended 7-0 and I was on a high, having scored a hat trick for the team.  On the final goal I had ran over to where Olivia was sitting with Kai's girlfriend Sophia and made a heart to her with my hands.

Ben had seen me and didn't seem happy.

"Well done mason" Tuchel had congratulated me as I stood on the sideline drinking water.

"Thanks boss" I beamed back.

"What the fuck was all that about?" Ben had said as he stood beside me.

I looked at him. "He congratulated you too on your goal?"

"I'm not talking about Tuchel, I'm talking about Olivia"

"What about her?" I turned to face him

"Making love heart symbols to her!"

"How do you know they were to her. It could have been to the fans"

"Bullshit"

"What's the problem anyway?" I questioned.

"She's my ex and your my mate"

"Yeah exactly. Your ex" I laughed. "You fucked it up with her Ben"

He pushed me before trying to swing a punch. It missed.

"Keep away from her!" He shouted as Kai came running over to try and stop us from fighting.

"Give it a rest Ben" I waved my hand to show I wasn't listening. "She's not yours anymore Ben"

"I still love her" he blurted.

"Yeah but you fucked it up" I called over Kai's shoulder as he stood in the middle of us both.

Ben threw another punch, this time it landed bursting my lip.

"What the fuck?" I asked as I wiped the trickle of blood away.

I threw a punch back and it connected to his cheek.

I didn't mean for it to happen but it did.

"Come on stop it now guys" Kai spoke, trying to diffuse the situation. "Your both going to end up in trouble"

Ben looked at me before walking away.

"I'm sorry Ben" I shouted after him.

I felt bad he was my mate at the end of the day.

"Nothings going on with me and Olivia" I lied slightly.

I liked her and I knew I wouldn't hurt her the way Ben had.

I knew he heard me as he turned briefly around, saying nothing before walking down the tunnel.

"Are you alright?" Kai asked.

"Yeah, I'm fine" I replied.

Kai nodded before heading down the tunnel.

I felt bad punching him back but he did swing first. Twice to be exact.

I looked towards the crowd to see if Olivia was still there, hoping she hadn't seen much of it.

But she was already gone....

And I knew now I would be in trouble with both her and Tuchel for what happened.
