I sat beside Les and Jan outside the pavilion since we were the only ones with a free period right now. "I doubt that would work. How do you plan on doing those flips when you have to hold Courtney in the air. She'll seriously murder you if you plan something like that while having her at risk of falling." I said as Les mentioned a move they could do in between the stunts.

"It just might, you need to be a little more optimistic." Les responded as Jan laughed at the two of us. Jan ruffled my hair causing me to pout before I swatted his hand away with a grin. "Tsk. Always such a pessimist.."

I pointed at Les with a playful glare before speaking, "I am not pessimistic!"

Before anyone could respond, a few football players walked towards us. "Whoa! It's sexy Leslie and Jan, Jan the cheerleading man. Awe we even got Zariyah! Why are you with them Z? You know you could do much better hanging out with us instead." He blew a kiss in my direction while throwing a wink, causing me to look at him weirdly before I flipped him off and rolled my eyes to look elsewhere.

"Hey fags." Another greeted causing Jan to jump out of his seat as Les tried to hold him back from letting a fight a breakout with them.

A scoff fell from my lips as I looked between the two football players, "Are you guys stupid?"

"What?" The shorter of the two said confused with a laugh.

"I'm just saying, it's almost like a daily routine for you two to torment them. Some would say you might have a bit of a crush... wouldn't want others to know about that would we?" I brought up smirking as one tried to get closer with a glare but stood his ground knowing that Les and Jan would do something if they laid a hand on me.

Jan smiled coming to stand beside me while Les stepped forward to speak, "And just because we won more trophies than you guys, there's no reason to get all malignant."

"Malignant this, fool." The football player responded as he grabbed a hold of his balls as if it was the funniest thing that he's ever done.

I tilted my head at them before pretending to throw up, "They never won a single game. I can now see as to why. I seriously hope they embarrass themselves when it comes to something truly important to them."

"It's got to be kind of rough on them though." Les responded thoughtfully as he slowly started turning around before rapidly poking me on the side to gesture Jan walking away from us and instead seeing Torrance walking towards the two of us with a pleading smile on her face, "Besides they're dicks!" Torrance looked at us confused when he heard Les make that comment so I pointed in the direction of the football players causing her to nod sympathetically already knowing how it must have went with them around.

"Yeah, yeah, yeah." Jan said upset from a distance as he continued to walk further. I sighed knowing this would bother him for a bit, but I knew he'd meet up with Nicolas who'd talk to him about it or help him antagonize the football players.

Torrance came up to Les and I before abruptly grabbing a hold of the both of us. "Zariyah, Les, please tell me that either of you or both of you have Advanced Chem first period."

"Advanced Chem. First period. We've got it Torrance." We both said unison laughing at Torrance's face of desperation and irritation as Les handed me, my backpack.

Torrance rolled her eyes continuing to rant, "Seriously. If either of you have a lab partner already, I'm screwed."

"Torrance, it's only the second day of school, and your academic insecurity bit is completely tired." Les teased causing me to snort as Torrance hit us both on the side. "You know, everyone's saying your ambition broke Carver's leg. I'm not naming names either, but it started from two very power-hungry cheerleaders that already are starting to not like you."

Torrance looked at Les appalled turning to me and only getting a nod in response, "When, really, it was the angle at which she slammed into the ground. Courtney and Whitney just love to hate me most of the time when it benefits them, I swear. I love them but sometimes those two stress me out."

"Kasey did a massive e-mail last night. Misspelled "leg." I said laughing loudly with Les nodding rapidly as we both saw the e-mail at the same time.

Torrance laughed, "Shut up!"

"Two G's." Les corrected with a nod. He then shook his head as he furrowed his brows, "And apparently, Carver gets home schooling for the next three months. Her mom apparently wants to be perfectly sure that she won't get hurt anytime soon as she heals so she's begged the school to let her learn from home for a while."

"Oh... I'm cursed." Torrance sighed out dramatically, "Replacing her is going to be a nightmare."

Les and I exchanged glances when Les suddenly threw her a sarcastic smile, "Well, that's why you're the captain, Captain."

"Don't remind me..." Torrance groaned.

I smirked moving to stand beside Torrance, so she was now in between Les and I, "But didn't someone dream of being captain? I remember this someone even following me out of class to tell her who I would be voting for. Imagine the tears that were threating to fall when she believed it was Court or Whit that I voted for."

"It was Courtney." Torrance said before widening her eyes and shoving me off of her with a laugh coming from both Les and I. "Oh you two suck! Zariyah, you knew that was harsh that day."

Les shrugged, "True but you laughed after she told you that she actually was voting for you."
