Breakfast long forgotten, both of the males headed upstairs. Taehyung had recieved a few texts from both Jimin and Hoseok, asking him how he was doing. He replied to them quickly, asked Ji-eun if she could tell Mr. Min that he had finished all of his work, but that he needed a break since he had gotten sick over the weekend. So, after he called in sick, he glanced at Seokjin who was waiting for Namjoon to pick up his phone.
Taehyung saw that the elder was nervous, not sure how Namjoon was going to react. With a quick pat on the back, the younger listened as he picked up, Seokjin cleared his throat awkwardly.
''Joonie, hey!'' His voice was so overly sweet, Taehyung stifled on a laugh. Anyone could notice it.
''Seokjin, what did you do?''
Bingo.
''Don't get mad. Taehyung figured us out. But, don't worry! He promised to keep our secret safe. Actually, he has a big one of his own, too. We're going to try a few things over here, keep a close eye on the body, alright?'' He answered hastily, out of breath. It was silent for a second or two, until Taehyung heard a loud sigh coming from the other side of the line.
''Well, it took longer than I expected, honestly. Thought you were going to blow it the first five minutes you got there.''
Offended, Seokjin gasped, but a small smile made it's way on his face nonetheless. ''I'm sorry. But trust me, it's okay. I told you so, didn't I? We can trust Taehyung-ah. We always could, and we always can.''
The phone call lasted a few more minutes, before they said their momentarily goodbyes and hung up. Pointing at the mirror, Seokjin raised his brow. ''I stood in front of it yesterday evening, as well. Nothing happened.''
Taehyung hummed, ''Jeongguk can decide whether he wants to show himself or not. He isn't actually bound to the mirror. He can walk around freely in this house, he just isn't visible to our eyes. He can move objects and such, but only since September first, his reflection started to show on mirrors.'' He stepped in front of it, smiling at Jeongguk's image. His entire being flooded with instant relief seeing the boy shyly smile back, a red tint adorning his cheeks.
A small smirk crept up Taehyung's face, which didn't go unnoticed by the youngest. Going even redder, the dark haired chuckled playfully, stepping aside. ''Gguks, do you want to introduce yourself?''
He watched the boy nod, a feeling blooming inside his chest he couldn't name as he heard him speak up.
''Hello, I'm Jeongguk. The male you sort of saved, that day. I should thank you.''
Taehyung looked to his side, not wanting to miss his hyung's reaction. But, to his confusion, he was met with a blank, awaiting face. ''You don't hear him?''
Seokjin shook his head. ''No, I don't. Also, you said he could show himself, right? I don't see him, either.'' Taehyung frowned deeply, stepping completely aside and pushing Seokjin in front of the mirror instead.
''Jeongguk, can you show yourself to him, please? He'll help us. It's okay.'' Taehyung went to reassure the male, thinking he was just shy. ''I am showing myself, Tae..''
That wasn't the response he thought he was going to get. ''He says he is showing himself, hyung. You really can't see him? You can't hear him either?'' Taehyung looked at Seokjin once more, his breath hitching watching him shake his head, again.
Taehyung stepped back in front of the mirror, Jeongguk was still there. He stepped aside again, then back, repeating that a few more times. He could see him perfectly. He could hear him perfectly.
The question is, why Seokjin couldn't.
''I know this must look wierd to you, hyung. From your point of view, I'm looking back at my own reflection, talking out loud to myself. But I-I promise, he's there, hyung.'' The dark haired male sighed in frustration, sitting on the edge of his bed.
Of course they'd stumble across problems the moment they'd try and solve things. Just as Namjoon's reading said; it isn't always as it seems, things might be a whole lot more complicated than one might think.
''I believe you, Tae. Don't worry about that. Trust me, you do not have to convince me when it comes down to supernatural stuff..'' He chuckled, sitting down next to him and staring at purely his own reflection. Taehyung did the same, however he wasn't the one staring at himself.
''What do we do?'' Taehyung mumbled, his hope dying down just a little bit. That was disappointing. He was sure both of the males were going to get along. But of course, it wasn't going to be easy to fix.
''Hold on, I'll go grab something.''
Taehyung watched the elder leave the room. Jeongguk looked down, walking away from the mirror to sit next to Taehyung.
However, the moment he stepped aside, Taehyung gasped.
The cold breezes- that was Jeongguk?! He couldn't feel that before.
''What's wrong, Tae?'' Jeongguk asked innocently, tilting his head to the side. He watched the other point his index finger towards the mirror, ''Can you do that again? Walk away from it, right past me.'' Not questioning it, he did as requested.
''I can feel your presence..''
That sentence made Jeongguk's heart stop. Registering his words, it picked up its speed, doing the most insane flip ever.
''Y-you what?''
Taehyung beamed, ''Whenever you go past me, I feel this small breeze.''
Jeongguk's eyes widened, suddenly he rushed between the mirror, back towards Taehyung, repeating it over and over again.
Taehyung, who could feel what the younger was doing, threw his head back in laughter, smiling from ear to ear. ''I can feel you, Gguks. At least that's positive, right?''
Showing himself back on the mirror, he nodded quickly, hair bouncing and falling in front of his eyes. His white teeth on full display, he was sure his cheeks were going to hurt because of how hard he was smiling.
Suddenly, Seokjin reappeared around the corner, walking back towards Taehyung with a book in his hands. The memory of him mumbling something while peeking inside of a bag came back, and he figured he read something out of it back then.
Sitting down next to him, the elder opened it, expecting to be laughed at for grabbing a cook book in this situation. But instead, he was taken by surprise when Taehyung piped,
''Why do you have spells for the change of weather?''
