🔨 Chapter 9: Ray POV 🔨

With Randy distracted on the phone, he couldn't see Ray move from her position and snag the food from the tray. She winks at the girl behind the counter, before stashing it carefully in her book bag. Luckily, it's packaged in a way that no spills would occur.

Ray settles back into her original spot pretending to be on her phone, just as Randy returns to the counter for their food. She watches from the corner of her eye as he looks at the counter in confusion. He must've them call their order number moments before. The ravenette hides her giggle behind her hand, before getting up.

"Randy, where is the food?" She ask, trying to keep her voice giggle free to sale the act.

"Uh?" Randy looks baffled. He probably figured Ray took the food so when she asked, he was even more lost. "Where is the food?" He's got a hint of a giggle is in his voice as he cocks an eyebrow at Ray. He pats his pockets like a dumbass as if ramen would be stuffed in somehow.

"I definitely put it here." The Rooster Rest employee plays along with Ray's antics. Randy glances at the empty spot the employee points at. He glances up at the employee for a second, and instantly turns to Ray.

The British man, with a slight smirk, glares Ray down. "Where's the food, Ray?"

Ray could feel the edges of her mouth start to rise as a laugh threatens to release so she acts quickly.

"Wait, Randy did you take it and you're trying to scam this restaurant for more food?" The grin on her face is full blown now but she continues to keep up the act, looking at the man in disbelief.

"Does it look like I would do something like that?" Randy ask, turning back to the employee. As if he's not a whole ass, well known criminal.

"Listen sir, I begged for you. Please don't make me lose my job. I was already suspended." The employee is good at acting. Ray's impressed. Immediately, the employee used the quick moment her and Randy had moments ago to her advantage.

Randy and Ray were doing house robberies all day, or trying too. So far, they completed only two and another offer came through when they were getting food at Roosters Rest. Randy, desperate, started saying please on loop and asked the curious employee to beg with him without context.

Randy stutters in shock, trying to explain he didn't steal anything or try to make her beg and only wanted a job. Some of the customers also start to chip in. Ray is almost on the verge of tears.

"You make her beg and you stole food?" Ray steps up, taking up for the employee. Randy starts to stumble over his words to defend himself. Clealy caught off guard by the situation which was very unlike him. "I'm so sorry, ma'am. Don't worry! He doesn't deserve the food. He doesn't deserve your time! I'll take care of this! C'mon Randy!"

Ray burst into laughter as the employee comments how Ray's in charge and the other customers join in. Randy stands in shock at the situation for a moment. He starts to walk after her as she urges him to come on.

When they are further away, Ray confesses to her sins and Randy shakes his head. "Nah, nah," He mumbles as he follows her, both putting back on their mask. "This ain't about to go down like this Ray. Raymundo."

Exiting Rooster's Rest, Randy complains about his declining reputation. The two laugh and bicker about his so called rep as they near the stolen Ford Expedition they are using for house robberies.

The Mundos look up at the sound of Randy's name being called, and she notices a pale blue McLaren next to their car of the day. She recognizes the man as X, Yuno's good friend. He probably recognized the masked Randy by the sound of his voice.
