"This love is good, this love is bad
This love is alive, back from the dead, oh, oh
These hands had to let it go free
And this love came back to me, oh, oh"
-This Love, Taylor Swift's 1989
"Why are you being so bitchy?" April yells from the bedroom to the living room where Ramee is.
This is not how she wanted her day to go at all. Her plane for tour is set to leave in 12 hours. The siren has pretty much everything packed up but is finishing one final suitcase.
April had hoped that she can spend the last hours happily with her family, pack the rest of her shit then snuggle with her boyfriend.
Instead, Ramee's been acting off all day. He hadn't been there when she woke up this morning (even though he promised to spend the whole day with her just the night before), he's been ignoring her texts all day, and when she did see him at the going away party her family set up, he spent it giving her sly comments.
She's not sure what crawled up his ass and died but it's really not what she wants to deal with right now.
When she's not going to be able see her family for months.
When she's not going to be able to see him...
He's not even bothering to be close to her even though she's fucking leaving.
If it was the other way around, she'd be all over him and trying to bury herself in his suitcase like a cat.
She's tried to do it before.
"April, I am not about to fucking fight with you. Please."
"You already are! You've been treating me like shit all day." April shouts back. She sits on the suitcase to try and zip the last of it up. It takes skill but she manages to do it.
"I have not been treating you like shit, holy fuck!" The sound of the tv rises up tremendously and the siren buzzes with fury at the disrespect.
April heaves the suitcase up on its wheel, dragging it to the rest of her stuff atop the stairs for Lucas to take to the car tomorrow. Once, she checks that everything is good, she makes her way to the living room.
Ramee's sitting on the couch, staring blankly at the screen as Yu Gi Oh plays. He doesn't bother to look up when she appears. She knows he's not really watching because the scene that normally has him bent over in laughter is on and he's only giving robot.
April's moves to the tv and shuts it off. She spins back around to glare at Ramee. When she faces him, the man's eyes are on the staircase where all her bags sit. There's a tight set to his jaw and something else in his eyes that shapes into annoyance when he notices she's watching him.
"Just talk to me!" April softly begs him. She finally can guess what's up with him based on that small movement. For once, she wishes he'll tell her without her having to guess.
The man immediately opens his mouth to do just that. She can tell but then his eyes catch on the suitcases again and it snaps close immediately.
Always one for dramatics and self-sabotages, April says something she hoped would get him to communicate. "If you can't talk to me, maybe we shouldn't be together."
