❤️ Chapter 24: April POV ❤️

April's laying on her stomach and kicking her feet in glee as she speaks to Autumn on the phone when someone walks past her and goes directly into her room. Stunned, the girl jumps up, immediately reaching for the gun hidden in between the couch cushions. Thank god for CG making her do this.
"Who the fuck are you?" She yells from next to the couch. The gun is pointed at her room door to blow off the intruder's head if they try anything. She can't see them but she can hear them moving around. "Get the fuck out or else."
The figure comes into view, leaning casually against her doorframe. It's a masked man judging by the fit, stance, and lack of boobs. April's not even nervous or scared. If she gets hurt in anyway, this fuck won't be able to walk free for long. The gang will make sure he begs for his life and then kill him anyway.
"I said-" She clicks the gun out of safety. Aiming directly for his head, she pulls the trigger about half way. "Get. Out." April's in CG but this isn't normally what she does. However, if she has to she will. She doesn't care.
"Hee." The giggle causes the tension to release in the girl. Scowling, she drops her arm before putting the gun back into safety. Randy pulls off his mask, white hair a bit messy from it and a grin spread on his face. "Good shit, April. I could tell you were actually about to shoot."
Rolling her eyes, she places the gun safely back into its hiding place. "What the fuck, Randy? Aren't the tests done?" She crosses her arms and cocks her head to the side sassily.
Tests in the gang aren't uncommon. There are plenty of things other gangs could do to get information or catch members off guard. Tests consisted of many things depending on what you do or are trying to achieve: loyalty, defense, offense, decision making, leadership, evading, etc.
April's been in the gang for a year and some months now. It's not enough time for her to stop getting tested though. Her biggest struggle to date would be defensiveness and awareness. Loyalty used to be a huge test for her too.
It wasn't as likely to happen to April cause...well cause she's April but she could get attacked for sure. Everybody knows and loves her for the most part. She gets along with many people, and a lot of people would do a lot to protect her. Even other gangs.
That could be her downfall though.
Mister K once said someone who's friends with everyone, is not friends with anyone.
The siren knows many others share similar thoughts as well. Surely there is someone out there that may eye her as a threat or a snake. They're not wrong either.
But she'll never be that for her gang. They are her everything.
Everyone else?
They're fair play.
Anyway, when the siren isn't around them, CG needed to know she could defend herself if needed. She'd been getting lessons in fighting from Mister K, shooting from Curtis, awareness of who can and cannot be trusted from everyone, but especially Ramee and Vinny. (Though, those two trusted no one anyway.)
She still struggles with it though. She wasn't as strong as others, her attention when in normal settings is bad too. She gets too caught up in what's happening and does not ever expect threats to be around. She's gotten kidnapped a couple of times for that too.
It used to hurt when her loyalty was tested, but she thinks it's better now for the most part. Even Novah who didn't trust her does now. The defense and awareness test is just exhausting, to be honest. She's not upset by it though, it's just tiring to always be on guard. And the boys have only gotten worse since fucking Dexx tried to pull a quick one a few weeks ago.
