I stormed out, tears streaming down my face. 'Why is she so cruel' I asked myself thinking back to the harsh words that were said only moments before. "Y/N WAIT UP" I ignored my sibling's calls, not wanting them to see me in this state. I hear the faint calls of my brother and sister but at some point, the noises went away. I turned around to see that they had given up. A new feeling skimmed my mind for a minute, fear? Thoughts started flowing in my mind 'they gave up on me' or 'why am I not good enough' they replayed in my mind over and over my thoughts were so loud I couldn't hear anything. That's when I felt a hand on my shoulder, I turned around to see... Neteyam? "Are you alright what happened-" I couldn't control my emotions, and tears fell from my eyes. I started blinking profusely due to the burning sensation in my eyes.
-TIME SKIP-

"Then what happened?" Neteyam questioned, he had brought me back to his Mauri the whole family was surrounding me. Kiri was rubbing my back, Tuk sat in my lap, Lo'ak and Neteyam we sitting in front of me and their parents were sitting off to the side. "She was just insulting me saying that I was nothing without a man! She thinks Rotxo is the one for me but I've never loved him he is a brother to me, not a mate" I explained dispear clearly in my voice. About 2 hours go by, filled with me ranting, crying, and holding back anger. "I should get going," I said noticing the family was growing tired, I quickly got up and stared at the family, "thank you for having me, and ill see you guys tomorrow ok" the room was then filled with subtle replies and simple nods, "ill walk you home ok," Neteyam said slowly getting up from his stop. "No no it's ok you should get some sleep" I cooed not wanting to be a burden, He grabbed my arm gently and ushered me along to my home "hey you know if you ever need anything I'm always here, I know we haven't known each other for that long but you've been so kind to me and my family so I must return the favor I-" I cut him off by hugging him, I shoved my head into the crook of his neck letting myself relax. I felt his hands wrap around my waist, slowly rubbing up and down. "Thank you Neteyam... this means a lot to me" I mumbled softly. He just chuckled leaning in close to my ear "goodnight Y/N ill see you in the morning" I watched as he let go of me leaving me flustered with a realization "oh my god..."
