Bruises

I lay in my bed, head pounding, body aching, and the room was spinning. 'kill me' was all I could think as I raised from my position, It was still early. "You came home late last night I was worried" I heard a soft voice come from the corner of the room. I turn to see my father sharpening his spear refusing to look in my direction "I'm sorry father I lost track of time last night" my poor father looked almost ill "You must have" He chuckled, "you aren't mad about it" I looked at him confusion crawling on my face, he simply shook his head "I am" I turned to look at my now very much awake sister. I watched as she ranted about how I had left her on her own. "I'm sorry sis I was with Kiri" I pouted feeling bad for the girl. She just looked at me and rolled her eyes, she mumbled something but I couldn't quite hear her so I just left it, 'probably better if I just let her be' I thought as I walked out the entrance of my home, I stopped for a minute before going back inside and giving everyone a good morning hug. "bye I love you guys!" I quickly left hoping to get some food and a drink.  

As I walked out of my home I got serval weird and judgemental stares from many of the clan members. 'i must have been fucked up last night' I sought answers as to what happened and I knew exactly who to go to. I bolted to the Sully's house hoping that the girl was still there "KIRI!" I franticly searched the Mauri my eyes landing on the stunned figure. "Y/N what's wrong" Kiri questioned, confused as to why I barged into her home. I plopped down in front of her still a bit groggy, "Kiri what happened last night?" I looked at the deep blue girl hoping she had the answers I so longed for. "Oh shit you don't remember" I hear coming from Lo'ak, I turned to the boy shooting up from my spot. "What do you mean" I walked over to the boy shaking him by the shoulders, "Um I think you're asking the wrong guy" He pointed to the lump on the floor. I went over realizing quickly what he meant. "What happened to Neteyam?" I stared at the multiple bruises along his face. I searched the room as it filled with awkward silence, I gently shook Neteyam awake noticing more and more bruises. "Tey you have to get up come on," I said softly as he groaned out in frustration "leave me alone... I wanna- AH SHIT" I shot back at the sudden loudness, I watched as the poor boy sat up rubbing his swollen jaw. "I did that didn't I?" I looked at Kiri as she slowly nodded, 'fuck he's gonna hate me' I slowly shuffled over to the poor boy "Morning sleepy head"

                                                                       Neteyam's POV         

A sudden burst of pain ran through my jaw. "AH SHIT" I screamed as I jolted up trying not to cry at the gut-wrenching pain. "Morning sleepy head" Y/N? I felt a hand on my cheek, and I almost melted into their touch "Hey Y/N" I smiled slowly adjusting to my surroundings, I looked around noticing everyone was looking at me "how bad is it" I asked knowing exactly why they were staring "You look funny!" Tuk chuckled. "you look like you fell off your Ikran" Kiri added "You...you look like.. you- AHAHAHAHAHA" I watched as Lo'ak folded over laughing his ass off. "Ignore them you look fine," Y/N said soothingly. I knew they were lying but I didn't feel like talking back or talking at all for that matter, it hurt too much. "Mhm" was all I could say, I grabbed Y/N's hand and took it into mine "Can we go for a walk I need to talk to you" I mumbled looking into their pastel blue eyes "yea of course here let me help you up" they cooed, slowly helping me onto my feet. As we started walking I noticed they were a lot quieter than normal but after what happened last night I can only imagine what they were thinking about. "Y/N do you remember at all what happened last night?" I wonder if they remember anything "No that's why I asked Kiri she was the last person i remember being with after you walked off" they sighed, they looked so stressed and tired, I grabbed her hand and stroked my thumb up and down her hand, "Y/N you might wanna sit down for this one" I said noticing the worry in their eyes. 

"I went feral to put it lightly" They mumbled, shock visible on her face. "Well I mean you had a good reason, I jumped Aonung and he is your brother," I said trying to comfort the shaking girl. "Tey you look like you got attacked by an Akula I mean you hit Aonung once and I hit you how many times" She looked at me ashamed of what she had done "Y/N it isn't that big of a deal you were drunk it doesn't matter-" I felt a light sting on my forearm as she slapped it "what do you mean it isn't a big deal" she spoke up trying to imitate my voice, "let's just leave it ok you were drunk and I'm doing... ok," I said putting my fist into her chest. She looked at me wide-eyed "Oh I think... I think you... killed- bleh" She fell dramatically, her head in my lap, and we stared at each other quickly laughing over her dramatics. "You changed the subject quickly" I joked trying to make her laugh more "eh it was getting too serious I couldn't handle the boringness" I put my hand over my heart "I'm boring" I pretended to fake cry wiping away my "tears" she looked at me laughing, tears falling from her eyes. "I hope those are happy tears," I said instantly wiping the tears off their face. "Of course, they are don't worry," I noticed her face instantly change color, the red tint becoming clear. "Are you blushing?" I questioned flustering the girl more, "Uhh.. oh! look at the time I must be off you know chores and stuff" they shot up trying to avoid the conversation, "Nuh uh not so fast there" I ran after them, eventually this becoming a game of hide and seek

                                                                                -TIME SKIP-

After about an hour and a half, I finally found Y/N riding their Ilu out in the reef with Tuk and Kiri, I decided to let them be. I walked back to my house praying to eywa no one was home, but my prays weren't answered because I found my mother and father sitting in the middle of the Mauri. "Oh, just the boy I was looking for" my mother waltzed over grabbing my arm "ah mum watch the bruises" I whined looking at my mother, "Oh hush and sit," she said trying to push me down. She grabbed a bowl with a mixture in it, and as she started applying it. I started to feel my face go numb, "So... about last night-" I cut my father off "We sorted it out" I said looking at the man "Neteyam that doesn't matter they still bashed your head in, I mean they squashed you like a bug!" I watched as my father bad-mouthed Y/N. "Dad I hit their brother and we were both drunk, we are both at fault here ok leave them alone," I said with sternness in my voice. After that, my dad stayed quiet. some time goes by as "all done!", my mother said in a cheery tone "there you should feel better now" She stated proud of her work "Thank you mother, I'm going to go to sleep I'm still a bit tired" I said quickly hugging my mother before moving over to the ledge my bed was placed on.
