Rescue pt. 1

Everyone had scattered to tell the Tulkun about the pingers, that included Lo'ak. "No way you're going out to Payakan baby brother," Neteyam said as he walked up to his brother, I followed behind him "Lo'ak it isn't safe" I added. "I have to go warn Payakan about the pingers" Lo'ak was distressed he looked at both me and Neteyam, pleading to let him go. "No you have to keep your skxawng ass here" Neteyam joked "he is an outcast! there's no one to warn him but me" I felt horrible, Lo'ak was right but with everything going on it wasn't safe for anyone to go out really "Bro why do you always have to make things so hard?" Neteyam joked as he rubbed Lo'ak's head, a slight giggle coming from his mouth. "Neteyam do not say that" I slapped the boy's arm "what it's true!" he whined. Lo'ak pushed Neteyam's hand away "No you mean why can't I will be the perfect son like you" Lo'ak started raising his voice, Neteyam backed away "Lo'ak that's too far" I shouted as I looked at both the boys "NO I'M NOT HIM OK" the tension was rising quickly as Neteyam walked towards Lo'ak they were basically in each other faces "I'm not you! he's my brother I'm going" Lo'ak stormed towards the ledge but Neteyam quickly spun him around "Oh he's your brother! no, I'm your brother" Neteyam snarled through his gritted teeth, "Neteyam chill the fuck out" I said as I held onto his arm "Lo if your going out to Payakan at least let me come with you" I said as I tapped onto his arm, snapping him back into reality. "O-oh ok um shit hurry then," Lo'ak said as he walked off "Y/N wait I'm coming with you guys," Neteyam said as he bolted after me "Then hurry up" I spoke. I grabbed my gear before I jumped into the water Filën quickly swam under me. "Hey, Filën Im gonna need it double time yea?" I whispered to the Ilu "Y/N! WHAT'S GOING ON" I spun around to see Aonung, Tsireya, and Rotxo coming up from behind me "Lo'ak is going out to Payakan!" I yelled out as I sped off after Lo'ak who had already left. The group quickly followed, Kiri and Tuk joined in along the way "hurry up!" Lo'ak shouted as he sped off. 

I spotted a Tulkun in the distance "IS THAT PAYAKAN" I yelled out to Lo'ak, he quickly threw a thumbs up as he swam over to the creature. I watch as the boy waved me over "Payakan has been hit help me!" Lo'ak yelled as he helped me up onto his brother. "Ok 3 2 1 PULL!" I grunted as I struggled to get the pinger out, and that's when I spotted the rest of the group "He's hit!" I continued to pull on the red pinger, and that's when everyone rushed onto Payakan. "Fuck get out you stupid bitch" I pulled harder and harder but it just wouldn't come out, we needed Jake "Lo'ak go call it in" I shouted "Huh what did you say," Lo'ak said, "call it in now go!" I repeated as I slapped the boy's arm. Lo'ak ran off to call it in "Lo'ak what are you waiting for call it-" I spun around when I realized why he had paused "the demon ship is coming go hurry" I cried. Everyone was pulling at this point and the thing just wouldn't come out, "wait does anyone have rope" Tsireya shouted as she continued pulling "oh shit I do hold up" Neteyam shouted as he jumped back into the water "Aonung catch!" Neteyam shouted out to my brother, and the rope flew over towards Aonung "Fuck I can't tie it my hands are too shaky" Aonung sighed out in anger "give it here" Rotxo snatched the rope from my brother's hands as he wrapped it around the red pinger "PULL NETEYAM!" I screamed out as I went back over to Lo'ak "Come on hurry we have to pull it" I said dragging the boy back over to the group. After a couple of minutes we still hadn't managed to get it out "Ah fuck this shit" I raged as I stomped on the pinger, snapping it out of the thick armor that wrapped around Payakan. Everyone went flying into the water, it was out the realization quickly hit as I dived into the water Filën quickly came to my side "Everyone alright?" I questioned as I swam over to them, the group all called out signaling they were ok. "You guys go that way I'll distract them" Neteyam called out "No Neteyam come with us" I cried out as I waved him over "No Y/N go you'll be safer go" Neteyam sighed signaling me to follow the group "Y/N COME ON!" Aonung called, I had a choice follow Neteyam or protect my family "Ugh don't do anything stupid you hear me" I whined as I looked at my mate "Never" He smirked as he swam off. "HURRY UP LETS GO" Aonung called again, we all dived into the kelp forest hiding in the leaves. I looked around and did a head count, everyone was there. We watched large objects fly over us along with a few Ikran "forest people?"  I signed to Lo'ak, looking at him with confusion "no they aren't my people" He signed back, looking up at the surface again. Then suddenly there was a splash in the water, and everyone looked forward to seeing large machines coming towards us. We all scattered into the leaves of the kelp but the Ilu wasn't fast enough, the subs caught up to us fast. I looked back to see 2 coming right for me, I told Filën to go faster and to follow the group but when I looked back the group was gone. 'Shit!' I was stranded and suddenly I felt my body being tugged up, Filën had been shot and he was floating up to the surface. I couldn't feel Filën move or struggle and when I looked down he had been shot right through his neck, the blood pooled through the water as the subs came towards us. I planned to just act dead blend in the everything. I left my eyes open as I floated there Filën underneath me 'don't cry Y/N be strong' i thought to myself as I stayed still, as the subs came up to me and my Ilu all I could hear were profanites and people yelling, were they angry? after a couple of seconds the subs left and I surfaced to catch my breath, I saw a small rock that was close by so I swam towards it and that's when I saw it, the demon ship was a few miles away along with my village? what was going on, I remembered that Jake had given me one of his walkie-talkie chokers, and I kept it in my knife pocket. I quickly took it out and put the earpiece in "Hello anyone? it's Y/N" I spoke as I choked back tears "Y/N? Y/N where are you" Neytiri answered, I could tell she was up in the sky by the shitty audio quality "I'm a few miles north of the demon ship I'm on a small little island" I called back as I looked up to see if I could see Neytiri, and that's when I spotted her she was circling three brothers rocks, I jumped around hoping to catch her attention "Is that you jumping on the rock?" she asked "Yes yes thats me!" I yelled, excited that I was finally being saved "Ok hang tight" She said, I watched as she dived down coming my way, it didnt take long for her to get to my location "NEYTIRI!" I screamed as I ran to her "Y/N" she opened her arms as we hugged, I had never been happier to see anyone not even Neteyam "Oh thank the great mother your ok" she whispered as she held me close. We stayed like this for a little while before she let go "Come on get on" The tall women said as she helped me onto her Ikran "I'm gonna need you to steer Tireaioang for me ok" Neytiri said as she grabbed her bow "But I dont know how" I cried "I will guide you at first but it is just like riding an Ilu but flying" Neytiri giggled, in that moment all I could think about was the day me and Neteyam met he said something similar.

                                                                                       FLASHBACK 

 "Hey Neteyam" I whispered as I looked at the boy "Yo" he answered looking back at me "What is the forest like?" I asked as I sat on my Ilu "Uhh it's sorta like the ocean but like above water" he chuckled at his stupid joke, I laughed too "You gotta take me one day" I giggled as we rode together "yea definately" he answered "Promise me you will" I said with sincerity in my voice "Y/N I promise I will take you one day" he said looking into my eyes.
