Chapter 6: To Find A Cure

Throughout the weeks Janus would come by with more resources from their base that's regrown or remade, also bringing Eleanor each time. Virgil is listening to Logan talk about a murder mystery novel, Patton and Eleanor are making cookies. Roman goes over to Janus. "So my brother is working on a cure for zombie thing?" Janus nods.

"He's better at experimenting when physical harm is needed, that's how he got El back." Janus states.

"But then...how does he expect to do it if it doesn't need or can't have violence?" Roman questioned.

"Well...I was hoping you all could move in and Logan could work with Remus to figure things out when both aren't busy..." Janus says, as Roman thinks for a bit.

"I think Logan would accept, and Patton probably would as well. But I don't know about Virgil." Roman states.

"What do you not know about me, Princey?" Virgil asks at Roman jumps a bit, startled. Virgil smirks a little. "What? I didn't scare you did I?"

"No, I was talking with Janus and he suggested we all move in with them. I was unsure if you wanted to because of your past and I didn't want to make you do something that is uncomfortable for you." Roman states with honesty, Virgil smiles a little.

"Thanks for worrying, Sir-Sing-A Lot, but I'm okay with it. I don't completely trust him but he brought her back." Virgil says as Roman nods.

"Okay, I'll ask the others." Roman states, going over to the other two. Virgil looks at Janus.

"So, the rat is making a potion to change us back?"

"Yeah, Remus is but he needs help with it."

"Cause there isn't blood or violence." Virgil says, like a question but both know it's true.

"Yeah, so I thought Logan could help make it with him." Janus says. Virgil nods as Roman comes back over.

"We'll see you there, probably in an hour or two." Roman says, standing beside Virgil. Janus nods and waves goodbye before leaving with Eleanor. Everyone starts packing their things. After a while Roman goes into Virgil's room.

"Do you want any help, Hot Topic?" Roman asks leaning against the door frame. Virgil smirks to himself.

"Awww, you think I'm hot." Virgil said sarcastically as Roman blushes a bit.

"I-Well you...topic-hot.." Roman stumbles over his words, before freezing up and blushing a little more when Virgil laughs.

"It's fine Princey, you can help if you want." Virgil says finishing a small bag. After a few more minutes the two finish packing. The four go to the other base, Roman fighting zombies and Virgil lauring them off.

"This is significantly bigger. There may actually be a replenishable food source inside as well." Logan states as they walk through the building. After some time each person finds a room they like. Virgil chose his old room, obviously redecorating a bit. Roman moves across the hall from Virgil. Patton moves into the room beside Virgil and Logan moves into the one beside Patton.

"Yo Dictionary, the rat wanted your help on making the cure."

"And who might 'the rat' be?"

"That'd be me!" Remus says startling Logan and Patton as he appears suddenly dangling from the ceiling. "Sorry I took a while I was drinking perfume."

"That's severely dangerous."

"It's fine~!" Remus says jumping down from the ceiling. Virgil sighs and goes back to his room, Roman goes back to his room as well. After a few hours of talking Logan comes up with a plan.

"Roman, Virgil, could you two go on a mission for me?" Logan asks the next morning as he drinks his coffee. Virgil is sitting on the counter as Roman stands the the left of him.

"And what would that be?" Virgil asks, looking at him.

"I need both of you to go to where the virus start--"

"Excuse me?." Virgil says, obviously annoyed. "You want ROMAN to go where the virus that turned people into zombies STARTED?! He could become one!"

"And he trusts you. You would be there to provide a way for him to understand." Logan states calmly as Virgil is practically fuming before a hand rests on his shoulder.

"It's fine, Virgil. No damage will happen to me, and if it did you would be there." Roman says, smiling confidently and Virgil sighs relaxing slightly. "I'm pretty sure we can do it. We'll just need time to prepare."

"Of course, take your time." Logan says calmly before walking out of the kitchen.

"Princey you don't have to do this you know?"

"I know Virge, but I want to and besides with you going there's nothing we can't do!" Roman exclaimed happily, smiling brightly causing Virgil to smile a little as his eyes sparkle a bit. "Lets leave tomorrow, okay Virge?"

"Okay Princey, we'll start our adventure together tomorrow." Virgil says, jumping down from the counter and walking off.
