After I shut the door, and after Lorne has walked across the street back to his house, I go into my room and dump the bag of school stuff onto the floor.
There's three collage ruled notebooks, a box of mechanical pencils, a box of blue pens, a grey felt pencil case, a tube of hand sanitizer, a folder with a purple rain cloud raining blue rain on the green grass on both the front and the back, and a plain white binder.
I sit down next to the pile of stuff after dragging out my old mint green backpack that I has used at my old school only a few days ago. I stuff the school things into the bag and zip it closed. Than I shove it back into my closet.
My phone buzzes in my pocket as I close the closet door.
*Hey.
-Lorne*
"Hey wyd?
-Camellia*
He answers only a few seconds later.
*Nm. U?
-Lorne*
*Just finished packing my stuff 4 school tomorrow.
-Camille*
*Cool. R u riding the bus?
-Lorne*
*I think so...
-Camille*
*K than I will 2 :)
-Lorne*
*K :)
-Camille*
I stuff my phone back into my pocket and walk back downstairs.
My Mom and Dad are unpacking some more in the kitchen.
"Hey Camellia, did you pack your bag?" Mom asks, setting the blender into a cupboard above the counter.
"Yep." I grab a few bowls from a box my Dad is unpacking, and put them with the others in a cupboard.
"Good. Do you know if Piper has finished?" Dad asks, setting an empty box aside. I shrug.
"I donno." After I finish off a box and carry the empty boxes outside to be recycled, I head back upstairs and knock on Piper's closed bedroom door.
"Come in." She says. I open the door and step inside. She sits on the bottom bunk of her bunk bed. Her light blue and black striped bedding pulled around her. Music plays from her ear buds that are currently pulled out and lay in her lap.
"Did you have fun at Lorne's house last night?" I ask.
"Yeah, sure." She goes to put in an ear bud, but I stop her by putting my hand up.
"Tell me the truth." I say, shutting her bedroom door and walking over to her. I sit on her bed and pull my legs under me.
"I did." She says, sighing.
"What's wrong?" I ask.
"Nothing." She frowns, her eyes narrowing. "What do you want Camille?"
"I want to know what's going on. Usually your more spunky and smiley."
"Smiley?" She asks, a sarcastic look on her face.
"You know what I mean." I match her frown and relax my shoulders.
"Okay, fine. I didn't have fun at Lorne'e house." She crosses her arms across her chest in frustration.
"Why not?" I ask, blinking. There were kids her age at the party. They looked like they were having fun. Bouncing on the trampoline. Although, I don't remember seeing Piper on the trampoline at all...
