Y/n's POV

Wednesday January 31
The game was back on. I thought Roy was going to call it off because of what happened. I wouldn't have even considered it a win. I could have just forgotten about it and went on with my day to day life. But no. That little competitive bitch refused to call off the bet and instead pause the game for a few days while his head healed. Not that I was complaining. I was a little competitive bitch, too.
Today was the last day of the intermission and I decided to make the most of it. After school  I was going to meet Susie and we were going to get candy and watch a film. I was looking forward to it.
After school I met Susie in the park.
"Hey, Y/n!" She waved at me.
"Susie! Hey!" I waved back as I ran over to her.
"You ready to stock up on sweets?" She said?
"You know it! But I have to talk to you about something as well."
"Sure! What's up?" She said as she started walking. I followed.
"I need to tell you what happened on Friday night."
"Oh. What happened?"
I sighed and began to explain. I didn't leave anything out. We had arrived at Candy Club by the time I was done explaining. When I stopped I noticed that Susie was staring at me with wide eyes, her jaw dropped.
"I'm sorry. Let me get this straight. While I was at home binge watching Harry Potter with my brother you went on a date with Shortie McScreams-a-lot, broke into an abandoned building, fell through the floor, almost got abducted by a cult and were then questioned by police?!"
"Keep it down would'ya?" I said, looking around to see if anyone had heard her.
"You just dropped a lot of crazy info on me, Y/n. I need you to confirm that I wasn't hearing things this whole time."
"You weren't hearing things Susie. It's all true."
"I mean, I knew that weird things went down a lot in this town but I thought that maybe I was just imagining things. Now I know it's true because I'm not the only one."
"What kind of things have you seen?"
"Well, my brother for one. Every now and then, his eyes glow blue. I haven't been able to figure out why. They never used to do that though. This is a recent thing. There are also a lot of missing kid posters in this town."
I thought about the missing poster that I found in the abandoned building. Why was the name Willowbark so familiar?
"Yeah. This place is sketchy. I don't know."
"Hey. This conversation is pretty dark, but we are supposed to be having fun right now! Let's get our candy and talk about something else for now." Suggested Susie.
I nodded and opened the door to Candy Club. We selected some of our favorite candies and set off to our next destination; the movie theater.
We got there just as the commercials were ending. We were successfully able to sneak our candy into the theater. The movie we were watching was about five kids trying to rid their town of a cult that wanted to take over the world. What irony.
