Y/n's POV

Monday March 16
My eyes opened sleepily as I woke up. Yeesh my back hurt! It was as if I slept sitting up all night. Oh wait. The sun had just come up over the horizon. I realized where I was. Holy shit! I slept up in this tree all night? How could I have let that happen? I could've fallen off this tree and splattered all over the ground!
"Mmm.. wh-where the hell am I?" mumbled Roy on my left.
My eyes widened. I had fallen asleep in a tree with Roy on my shoulder and I DIDN'T WAKE UP ALL NIGHT?? How is this possible?
"Y/n? What the fuck?" said Roy in a tired voice. He sat up slowly and rubbed his eyes.
"Good morning sleepyhead! Did you have a nice lil nap?" I teased in a sweet voice.
"Shit. I fell asleep." groaned Roy.
"Yeah, you did. On me no less!" I responded.
"What." Roy said.
He turned to me with a concerned look on his face. Shit he didn't know. Must have been too groggy to realize.
"Yeah. When you fell asleep you started leaning on my shoulder." I said.
Roy's eyes widened and a light blush crossed his face.
"You didn't wake me up?!" He shouted.
"Well I didn't want to disturb your beauty sleep." I replied.
Roy groaned and crossed his arms. I snickered but then winced at the soreness in my shoulder and back.
"Oh shit." I said, realizing something.
"What?" snapped Roy.
"It's Monday!" I yelled.
Roy's eyes widened and his eyebrows raised.
"Shit!" He said scrambling to find a way down the tree. I followed him.
We eventually made our way down the tree and bolted through the woods back to my house. His stuff was there so he had to come with me. We ran through the front door of my house and up the stairs to my room. The door was locked. The door was locked? Why was the door locked?
"What's wrong" asked Roy breathlessly.
"The.. The door is locked.." I said.
"What?" He said in a concerned voice.
He jiggled the knob to no avail. I knocked on the door.
"Susie? Hello? Sakana? Why is the door locked?" I called.
I heard someone jiggling the knob from the other side of the door and it opened slightly. Sakana poked her head out. She gasped at the sight of me and grabbed my arm, pulling me inside. Roy followed soon after as I was grasping his hand. I hadn't even realized that I was. Sakana closed and locked the door once we were inside. Susie was nowhere to be seen. Now that I think about it, Robert wasn't downstairs either.
"Sakana, what the hell is going on?" I asked. I was too worried to hide my dislike for her.
"One sec. Susie! You can come out now!" Said Sakana in the most serious voice I had ever heard her speak in.
The closet opened and Susie peaked out.
"Y/n! Roy! You're back!" shouted Susie as she ran to us. She embraced us in a tight hug and her voice was choked with tears. "It had been so long so- so w-we decided to g-go look f-for you-ou two. Y-you weren't in the- um- bathroom and we got w-worried. We went to ask Robert if he had- um- seen you. B-but the Cult! It had b-broken in a-and and.. they w-were in the house!. W-we di-didn't see Robert a-anywh-where b-but we- um- got scared and ran up here and l-locked the door! Th-they pounded o-on the door b-but th-they couldn't get i-in. They stopped eventual-ly but we-we were too scared t-to leave the cl-closet."
I was frozen in surprise. Roy gripped my hand so tight that it hurt and I could feel him shaking a bit. Susie released us from the hug and looked at us. Her eyes were red and puffy with tears.
"We think that those things got your blonde friend. We were worried they had gotten you, too." Said Sakana in a weirdly calm voice.
"What?" said Roy in a choked voice. Tears started to form in his eyes.
He said something under his breath, not intending for anyone to hear it, but I did.
"Both of them?"
Tears started to form in my eyes when I remembered something.
"MOM!! MY MOM!! WHERE IS SHE!!" I yelled.
I bolted out the door of my room and down the hallway. I flung the door to my mom's room open. She was nowhere to be found. I heard a rustling under the bed and she poked her head out.
"Y/n! You're ok!" She scrambled to her feet and ran to me.
"Mom!" I said as she embraced me in a hug.
"Where were you?" She asked.
"I was- um- outside. With Roy. Susie told me what happened." I responded.
"Well.. I'm glad you weren't here when a group of robbers broke in, but next time if you are going out TELL ME!" She said sternly.
"I will mom! I will!"
She didn't know it was a cult. She just thought it was a group of robbers. That was good. If she knew it was a cult she would freak out and get involved and probably mess things up by calling the police prematurely or moving us to another town across the country.
"Are your friends alright?" Asked mom, pulling away from the hug.
No. No they weren't. Robert was taken and Ross is dying in a coma and Roy is probably having a breakdown as we speak at the thought of losing both of his closest friends and Sakana is sick in the head and Susie probably has some sort of trauma now because I got her roped into all this. But I couldn't tell mom that. That wasn't my story to tell. And I love that she always tries to help but she would probably get in the way.
"Yeah.. Yeah, we're ok." I lied.
"Alright good." She said. "Do you kids want some breakfast? I can make something special to celebrate that we survived the events of last night."
"That sounds good, mom. Thank you." I said.
"Great. I'll go start that. Can you make sure that your friends are feeling ok?" Asked mom.
"Sure.. just one thing. Why did the.. robbers leave? Like what happened that made them leave?" I questioned.
"Oh.. I called the police on them. They left before they arrived though." She responded.
"Ok.. Thanks."
That was odd. Susie didn't mention anything about the police showing up. I feel like that would be a vital part of the story. I reentered my bedroom. Sakana was sitting in my chair in deep thought, Susie was laying on the floor in the starfish position, and Roy was curled up at the foot of my bed trying to hold back tears.
"Susie?" I asked.
"Yeah?" She replied without sitting up.
"Did the police show up?"
Susie sat up and looked at me.
"No. If they had shown up I would have mentioned them. The cult just left. Why do you ask?"
"My mom said she called the police.." I responded.
Susie narrowed her eyes in thought.
"Well.. maybe they did show up later on? Sakana and I fell asleep in the closet so maybe they came when we were sleeping." Suggested Susie.
I nodded slowly. That made sense, but it still puzzled me. I didn't have the time to puzzle though. We had bigger things to worry about. Like how we were going to get Robert back.
