Y/n's POV again

Still Wednesday February 13
I arrived home alone after walking everyone else home with Susie. My mom questioned me on where I was and I told her I was hanging out with friends. We ate dinner and I went to my room. The dance tomorrow was on my mind. I didn't know what I was going to do! I couldn't just go in my normal attire, but what else did I have to wear? I couldn't just borrow something from my mom. It would be too big. I was pacing my room trying to figure out what to do when I heard a notification from my phone. I crawled onto my bed and grabbed my phone. It was a text. From Roy.

Roynald McDoynald: Hey. Are you awake?"
You: Yeah? Why?
Roynald McDoynald: Good. I just wanted to say thank you for covering for me in the woods.
You: No problem. Wasn't gonna throw you under the bus after what happened.
Roynald McDoynald: Yeah.
Roynald McDoynald: Hey, you know the dance tomorrow?
You: Ye?
Roynald McDoynald: You going?
You: Yeah. Susie made me. Don't really want to tho. don't have anything to wear.
Roynald McDoynald: Ok. Good. Meet me there ok? I owe you for what happened.
You: Ok? What are you gonna do?
Roynald McDoynald: You'll see when ya get there. Bye.
You: Ok.. Bye

What the heck was that guy up to?

Thursday February 14 <3
We didn't have school tomorrow for midterm grading. Pretty convenient considering everyone was going to be tired after the dance. I was greatly anticipating the long weekend. Maybe I could finally relax after weeks of stress! During school I was planning all of the things I could do over the weekend. The bell for the last class rang and it felt like the day had gone by too quickly. I started to stress out more and more as the minutes dragged on, pulling me closer to the dance. I was not excited about it. A bunch of loud teens, clustered together in a gym, with loud music and talking surrounding you on all sides, and chaperones watching your every move as closely as possible. Oh my gosh, what a nightmare. I started digging through my closet to find something to wear. I never had a need for super nice clothes so I didn't own any. My casual wear didn't seem quite formal enough though. But what else am I supposed to wear? I decided to wear one of my nicer hoodies with cool patterns. I tried at least.

"Alright mom! Imma head out!" I called as I opened the front door.
"Have fun, sweetie!" She called back.
I dashed out the door and ran as fast as I could to the school. I was hoping to meet Susie outside the building. Instead when I got there I found that Roy was standing outside the school. Susie must already be inside because she wasn't anywhere to be seen. Roy looked up at me as I arrived in front of the school.
"Hey. You made it." Said Roy.
"Wouldn't miss it for anything." I said sarcastically.
"Hey, so, this probably isn't much but.." He picked up a large bag from beside him and held it out to me. "Here. You mentioned you didn't have an outfit."
I blinked in surprise. I took the bag and looked into it. Whatever was in it was covered with a thin layer of tissue paper.
"Don't open it here. Open it in the dressing room or something. If you don't like it it's fine. I can ask my parents to get something else."
"Oh. Um. Thanks?" I said.
"Mhm." He walked inside the school and disappeared behind a corner. Off to the gym I assume.
I stand still, processing what just happened. Without saying anything, I walked into the school and went to the locker room like Roy recommended. Like I expected, no one else was in the locker room. I looked around to make certain that no one was here and then opened the package.
I gasped slightly when I pulled out the contents. It was a beautiful outfit, that fit my style perfectly (Can look however you want it to! For effect it would make more sense if it had long sleeves though. It contributes to a later scene. Have fun!) I could tell just by feeling it that it was made of high quality materials. I stared at it for a moment, wide eyed.
I suppose I had one of my worries taken care of after all.

I stepped into the gym and looked around for Susie. I spotted her standing next to the drinks table, watching the other people dancing. She was wearing a glittering magenta dress and looked great. I approached her.
"Y/n! Hey! I thought you weren't gonna- woah you look good! I thought you said you didn't have anything!" She said when I arrived.
"Oh- um. Yeah. I found a few things to pull together." I said in response.
"Well then the next time we do one of these things don't be so worried! You look great!"
"Thanks, Susie."
"Now I'm glad you're here, because look." She said, lowering her voice slightly as she pointed across the room.
I saw she was pointing at the Hatzgang. All three of them had shown up. Roy was now wearing a nice suit, Ross hadn't changed at all from his usual emo attire and Robert looked like he had borrowed his outfit from his parents or something. Though I was pretty sure Susie wasn't just pointing out their existence. I noticed that Ross and Robert were holding hands and Robert looked like a flustered mess. I had thought I noticed some chemistry between them. Susie was giggling. Over the time I had known her I realized she was one of those kids who would ship their classmates together and bet on how long it took for them to get together. I was fine with it as long as she didn't ship me.
"Hafer owes me 10 bucks, now." Susie said slyly.
"Who's Hafer? Why is their name 'oat' in German?" I asked. Did Susie make a new friend without me even knowing?
"Hafer is a dude I met at CandyClub the other day. He goes to our school but I had never noticed him before. Also, I don't know why his name is oat in German. He chose his name, not me!" She replied.
"OOoooOoOOo." I said teasingly.
"Oh stop! He's not into girls like that." She said, pushing me lightly.
"Alright alright." I said, chuckling a bit.
"Woah wait!" Said Susie. She touched my sleeve and rubbed the material with her thumb. "Where did you get this? This is, like, the rich people shit!"
"Oh- um- I don't know. I just found it, I guess." I lied. I didn't want Susie to know it was a gift from Roy. 1. She would ask why in the world he would give me something and then I would have to explain everything, 2. That would be the perfect fuel for her to start shipping us and I sure as FUCK do not want to be shipped with him.
She raised an eyebrow at me, obviously not believing the lie.
"I don't believe you one bit but I don't want to waste extra time interrogating you when we have school dance stuff to do." She said. "So, you choose. What shall we do first , Y/n?"
I thought it over for a second but then a good song came on, interrupting my thoughts.
"Oooooo I love this song!" Said Susie. "Imma go dance! You wanna come with?"
"I think I am just gonna chill here for a bit. I'll join you soon, ok?" I responded.
"Sure. Understandable. See ya, Y/n!" She said as she ran out into the center of the gym.
"You know Susie, too?" I heard a voice next to me and I jumped. How did they sneak up to me so quietly?
"Um..  yeah?" I said as I turned to them.
It was a guy with short brown hair wearing heart shaped glasses. He wore a sparkly pink suit that almost burned my eyes and black pants.
"Sorry, did I startle you? The name's Hafer. I'm one of Susie's friends." He said, holding his hand out to me.
"It's fine. I'm Y/n. Also Susie's friend. She was talking about you." I said as I shook his hand.
"She was? What was she saying?" He asked. "Was it a sEcReT?"
"No, she was just saying that you owe her 10 bucks." I said. I pointed across the gym.
"I, what-" He started as he looked where I was pointing. He noticed Ross and Robert holding hands. "Oh. Great."
He rolled his eyes and started digging in his suit pocket for something.
"Nice meetin' ya, Y/n!" He said as he started to walk towards Susie.
"Right. Nice meeting you, too." I replied.
I poured myself a cup of punch and started to sip it as I watched the other students dancing, or talking. My eyes eventually fell on the Hatzgang as I scanned the room. I stopped when I got to them. Ross and Robert were chatting about something and both looked like they were having a good time. Roy was leaning against the wall and looked like he would rather be anywhere but here. He, too, was scanning the room. I didn't realize I was staring until his scanning reached me and we locked eyes.
