JUNGKOOK POV
I was pretty sure my cheeks would be flaming red with shame if I wasn't so pale right now.
I was sick to my stomach and the harsh look Jimin was
giving me wasn't helping.
I briefly considered going back into the bedroom until the plane landed but I was no coward.
I'd had a hand in this fiasco
and even if my family wouldn't own up to what they had done,
I would.
I sat down in the chair closest
to the bedroom door about the same time the flight attendant walked in with a tray with two cups of something steaming hot.
Jimin thanked her before taking the tray and setting it down
on the nearest table.
After the flight attendant walked away, Jimin motioned to the tray.
"Coffee?"
I snorted out a nervous laugh
as I got to my feet.
"Last time I accepted coffee
from someone, I ended up married to my brother's fiancé."
Jimin paused for a moment and then reached for one of the cups.
"Okay, while I can see that
that might be an issue, I can promise you that I put nothing
in your coffee."
"Unless the flight attendant has nefarious plans for us, your coffee should be good to go."
Jimin grabbed his own cup
and then walked over to sit
in the chair across from me.
When I sat back down coffee
in hand he seemed to regard
me for the longest time.
There was a small pucker between his eyebrows but
other than that, he had no expression on his face.
"Can I ask you some
questions?" Jimin asked.
"Of course."
"You work for Kim Seokjin, correct?"
"Yes but how did you know
that?"
I hadn't talked about my life
at all, It wasn't that I didn't
want to.
There just hadn't been time.
"Jin and Taehyung are my
best friends."
"Tae's husband, hobi, is my
baby brother."
"Tae mentioned to me that you worked together when I told
him your name."
"Oh, god." I pressed my hand
to my chest, unable to breath.
"Am I going to lose my job?"
My job was pretty much the
one good thing I had in my life.
I didn't know what I'd do if I didn't have it anymore.
And it wasn't just the job.
I loved the people I worked with.
They understood me and how
my mind worked.
They not only understood me
but they encouraged me, supported me.
"No!" Jimin snapped out sharply but then he lowered his tone.
"No, your job is safe."
"I swear."
"I was just trying to clarify if
you were the same Jeon Jungkook that worked for Jin."
"Yes I am, I work in one of his labs as a bio engineer."
"I'm not sure exactly what a
bio engineer does."
