JIMIN POV

A cold, congested expression settled on my face as I glanced at Jungkook's sleeping form.

He was curled up in the seat
next to me, his head resting
on a pillow propped against
the window.

He'd been there for the last few hours, since right after we'd boarded the commercial flight.

I would have preferred that we use Jin's jet to fly home but
that just wasn't possible.

We needed to get out of Italy and it would take too long for
the airplane to get here from New York.

Jin had planned to charter another jet but I hadn't felt comfortable waiting for that either.

I wasn't thrilled taking a commercial flight but at least
we were flying first class.

And Paolo had met us at the airport with our luggage so
that was something.

"Would you like something
to drink, sir?"

I glanced over to find the
flight attendant standing next
to my seat.

I sent her the best smile I
could, which wasn't much.

"Coffee if you have it."

"Of course, sir."

When she came back a few minutes later, I asked her
when we'd land.

"It should only be a couple
of more hours, We have clear weather all the way in so the landing should be quick as well."

"Thank you."

After she walked away, I
slowly sipped my coffee.

It was black but whatever.

I was more interested in the caffeine than the sugar level.

I wanted to stay awake.

I needed to stay awake.

With Jungkook sleeping, I
was the only thing that stood between him and the outside world. I'd let him down before.

I wasn't going to do it again.

I swallowed tightly as I turned
to look at Jungkook again.

This nerdy little man amazed me.

It had been less than two weeks and he totally had me wrapped around his little fingers.

I couldn't imagine my life
without him in it.

I didn't want to.

In such a short amount of time, Jungkook had come to mean
so much to me.

I adored him and while I had thought that would happen at some point, I hadn't expected
it so quickly.

Jungkook was tucked under a blanket, so I reached under-neath it and grabbed his hand.

I wanted that connection to him, especially after he smiled in his sleep and squeezed my hand.

My determination to protect him from the world renewed itself.

This stunning man with the beautiful dimples and bunny smile deserved to be his nerdy little self without the threat of
his family or Jung hanging
over him.

Considering how early in the morning it was, the rest of the flight was in silence and dim light.

The lights only went brighter when the pilot announced we were coming in for a landing.

I leaned over and pressed a
kiss to Jungkook's temple.

"Time to wake up, love."

"Hmm?" Jungkook smiled as
he turned toward me and
his eyes fluttered open.
