JIMIN POV
"Is that not long enough?" I asked.
"Do you think we should stay married even longer?"
Jungkook dropped his head down into his hands, I wasn't sure if that was a good thing or a bad thing.
I also wasn't sure if asking him to stay married was such a good idea.
From his reaction, I was going with no.
"I can call Tae right now and have him not file the papers,
We don't have to do this."
I would never force Jungkook
to do anything he wasn't comfortable with.
Jungkook's skin was a little pale when he lifted his head but at least he looked me in the eyes.
"My work is in New York."
"Your work is in Seoul."
"How is that supposed to work?"
"Oh well, I've been talking with Tae and Jin lately about closing my law practice in Seoul and going to work with Tae at Jin's company."
"Really?"
"I don't like the idea of leaving my father alone but that can't
be enough reason to stay."
"Doesn't your family live there?"
"Ari lives out there but her and Jih have their own place."
"Hobi lives in New York with
Tae."
Jungkook winced. "Any chance your father might be interested in moving across the country?"
"In the past, I would have said no but with me and hobi both
in New York, I don't know."
"His business is there, but..." I shrugged.
"I don't know, We haven't really discussed it because I thought
I'd be staying in Seoul."
"But now you're not?"
"Not if we stayed married."
"Why would you want to uproot your life and move all the way across the country if we're just going to be married for a year?"
"That doesn't make any sense."
"It does if you think about it."
I just had to explain it to him in
a way he would understand, one that wouldn't send him running.
"I had already been thinking about moving, Us being married just cements that idea for me and moves up the timeline."
"It has the added benefit of getting me out of the same
city your family lives in."
Jungkook let out a small burst
of laughter but quickly covered his mouth with his hand.
"Sorry."
I smiled. "No, I get it. Getting away from your family shouldn't be a reason to move to another country but it is. Believe me."
"I'm beyond pissed over
what they did."
Jungkook's shoulders slumped.
"Sorry." he said again, this time in a whisper.
"I'm also beyond pissed at
what they forced you to do."
"I mean, your mother drugged you. If we could prove it, we could charge her with a crime."
"Do you get that? What they
did is a crime, a crime against
you and a crime against me."
