"Hitoshi! You could've saved me 45 whole minutes, just by saying you didn't care what we watch." I smacked his head; he just laughed. "I'm getting a snack. Do you want something?" I stood and stretched my arms before going to the kitchen."No, I'm good. If I get hungry, I'll just eat some of yours." I pulled a bag of popcorn from the pantry and stuck it in the microwave.
*Flashback*
"Hio! Come on, come on!" I had a grip on Hitoshi's hand and pulled him toward the house. Running on our still slightly chubby five year old legs. "We're gonna have popcorn!"
"Kia, slow down. You're gonna trip and we'll both fall." He had a hard time keeping up with me sometimes, so he worried about falling.
"No way. You'll be fine." Just as I said that, my shoe caught on a rock and I tumbled forward. I made sure to let go of Hitoshi's hand before I could pull him down with me.
"Kia?"
I stood and brushed myself off, giving him a big smile. "See? I told you you'd be okay!"
*Present Time*
My hand brushed over the small scar under my chin. "I miss those days." Taking the popcorn out I shook the bag and dumped it in a big bowl. "Gonna get me some milk." I grabbed my strawberry milk from the fridge and joined Hitoshi back on the couch.
"Took you a while. Now your spot's cold." I set my snack and drink on the coffee table, then crawled back under the blanket.
"Sakura, get your teeny tiny little snoot away from my popcorn." My kitten, hopped onto the small table and sniffed around.
"Teeny tiny little snoot?" Hitoshi's large hand reached over me and grabbed some popcorn.
"Yeah, her nose. Look how cute and little it is."
Sakura raised her head and sneezed. "It really is little. Kind of like--"
"Don't you dare finish that sentence."
