It was now the next day, Lilith was rested and her leg now wrapped in a bandage. She had a little trouble walking, but her father always made sure that she had someone right next to her to assist her when needed. Most of the time this was Draco or one of her boys.
Draco helps her into the Great Hall, Lilith holding onto his arm as she sits at the Slytherin table. People moved aside to give her more room to sit down, Draco sitting next to her.
One of the younger years asks her, "Does it hurt terribly, Lilith?".
She smiles, "It comes and goes. I should consider myself lucky. Madam Pomfrey said that any deeper and it would have cut the bone".
Some of the Slytherins wince and Pansy takes her hand, "We're all here to help you, Lil. Us Slytherins stick together".
They all nod in agreement and Lilith smiles. Across the room, the Golden Trio were watching the interaction.
Ron scoffs, "The little git. They're really laying it on thick, aren't they?".
Harry sighs, "At least Hagrid didn't get sacked. I do feel bad though".
Hermione asks, "Why? They had it coming, they're the ones that provoked Buckbeak in the first place. But I hear Malfoy's father's furious as well as Professor Snape. I don't think we've heard the end of this".
Neville intervenes, "Still, someone got seriously hurt". He looks over at the Slytherin table, deciding to do something in that moment, "I'm going to check on her".
Ron grabs his arm, "Woah, mate. What the hell are you doing?".
He stands, "Like I said, I'm going to check on her. Like Harry, I also feel bad for what happened. Fred and George mentioned she was trying to stop Malfoy and got hurt in the process. It wasn't her fault".
He removes Ron's hand from his arm and walks over to the Slytherin table. The Gryffindors notice this and watch his movements carefully. Neville nervously walks up to Lilith, who was laughing with her friends.
Blaise looks up, "What do you want, Longbottom?".
Lilith places her hand on the table, "Be nice". She turns and smiles at Neville, "Yes?".
He sighs, "I...I just w-wanted to see if you...were ok. I heard about what happened with...with Buckbeak".
She smiles and nods, "I appreciate that, thank you. Yes, I am doing much better now. I must say, this is a shock. Didn't expect a Gryffindor to care".
He smiles nervously, "There were definitely some...objections to me coming over here but I figured I want to be civil since a fellow student got hurt".
She laughs, "Wow. I'm impressed, Longbottom. Maybe some Gryffindors aren't so bad after all. Well, aside from the twins".
He laughs and nods, "I could say the same about you".
She gestures next to Blaise, "Why don't you join us...Neville?".
"Really?". She nods and he nervously sits next to Blaise, "Thank you".
"You've proven yourself to me to be civil and mature. I admire that. I think you'd fit in here just fine".
He smiles and looks around the table. Some of the Slytherins looked weary of the boy. Looking next to him, he noticed a small smirk on the dark boy next to him. He blushes and turns his head to look at the table. The tension could be felt around the Gryffindor table.
From across the hall, they heard a voice, "He's been sighted!".
