"We were nowhere," Donna stepped in front of me to save me from being interrogated. And I knew what she was trying to do. If we lied to each other's mates, then we wouldn't feel so bad. So I turned to Conner.

"We were just hanging out," I tried to ease the tension.

"And where did you go?" Conner growled at me.

"Hey, back off," Donna growled at her mate. "Don't talk to her like that."

"Then answer my questions," Conner was cold as he turned to his mate. "Where did you two go?"

"We just went out," I shrugged. "It is no big deal."

"It is a BIG deal," Damian grabbed my arm, holding me in place. "You could have been hurt. No guards were watching either of you. And someone tried to poison you days ago. What were you thinking?"

"We were safe," I pulled out of Damian's grip. "I made sure to smell the food before I ate it. We made sure not to talk to strangers. We were safe."

"You ate outside of the castle?" Damian's eyes turned black with rage as his wolf started to take over.

"Yes," I nodded. "We did. We went to a nice pizza place in town and enjoyed ourselves. So what? You can't keep us here. Locked away in this castle you call a house. We need to get out every once and a while. Take a break."

"You could have at least told someone," Damian growled.

"I told you I would be with Donna," I knew it was a weak argument, but I didn't want to lose this.

"But you never said you were going out," Conner spoke up. "I came back to check on my mate and her dear friend, only to see the closet looks like a tornado went through it and you two were nowhere in sight."

"We thought you would be working later," Donna shrugged. "By the way, when did you find out?"

"Six o'clock, but what does that matter?" Conner looked at the both of us, trying to figure out Donna's angle.

"We shouldn't have ordered that dessert," Donna nudged me. "We would have been back without any problems."

"But it was so good," I smirked.

"Stop laughing," Damian glared at the two of us. "We are seriously mad at you right now."

"Okay," Donna grabbed my hand. "Let these two be mad. My feet hurt and I want to sit down." We started walking up the steps, leaving the boys to gawk at each other. We hear them follow us a few seconds later but we don't stop until we reach Damian's room (correction, our room).

"Wait a second," I say before going into my closet and grabbing a spare fluffy blanket. Then we go over to the couch and sit down. I bundle us both in the comfy blanket just as the boys make their way into the room.

"This is not over," Damian gives a glare that could kill.

"You two can't just walk away and think we are done talking," Conner starts shouting.

"Shhhh," Donna shushed the men. "Us women are trying to rest."

"You are infuriating!" Conner ran his hand through his hair and messed it up. "You two should be apologizing to us. Saying how sorry you are for making us worry. Yet you are laying on a couch, taking a nap."

"No, we are going to bed," I correct him. "Not just a nap."

"No," Damian shook his head. "Conner and Donna are going back to their place."

"No, I am not going anywhere," Donna shook her head. "I am sleeping here."

"No," Damian was about to protest, going to pull the blanket off of us, but I growled.

"Stop!" I glared at him. "Touch this blanket and your dead."

Damian seemed taken aback by my outburst. I closed my eyes once again and leaned on Donna. Donna chuckled slightly but wrapped an arm around me and leaned against me. "Now boys, you can stay and watch us sleep, or you can leave."

"Fine," Conner growled. "But I am not done with this conversation. I will be back to talk about this in the morning."

"Rachel, at least go to bed," Damian said after Conner stormed out.

"I am good," I mumbled.

"Don't be stubborn," Damian huffed.

"Go to bed Damian," I said before yawning and pulling the blanket up to cover my face so the light wouldn't bother me anymore.

I heard Damian's footsteps walk away, and I listened to him get ready for bed. But I fell asleep shortly after, too tired from the events of today to stay away any longer. And I knew Donna was already fast asleep by the time my eyes finally closed.
