...What do I do?

Kobeni had heard the devil's offer, and it looked like it took a toll on her mental state considering her current action.

"K-Kobeni...." I called out softly. "Put the knife down..."

"K-Kill-Kill him...." Kobeni muttered. It didn't seem like she was going to back down.

This is such a bad scenario.  I know it would be all over if we had just killed the boy, but do you know how dishonorable it would be to stab a teammate in the back? I may be a devil, but I have standards to let you know.

I looked over at Denji, who had gotten into a battle stance against Kobeni, and Aki looked calm for some reason...? Why? Himeno next to me sighed like it wasn't the first time this happened.

I felt a very sharp bloodlust from Kobeni's direction, but the way she approached us was too direct causing her to underwhelm it.

"KYAAAAAAA!" Kobeni lunged. I was going to intervene but... something held me back? It was the Ghost Devil.

Aki kicked the knife out of Kobeni's hands, and following up Himeno hit her gut, leaving her immobile on the ground.

"AH!"

Ouch. That's got to be painful...

I sighed. I might have gone overboard if I intervened. Who am I to interfere between people I'm supposed to protect? Hah.... Poor girl....

"Sorry for holding you, Tazia." Himeno apologized. I shook my head.

"Oh well..." I dismissed, as I walked over to Kobeni to carry her. She was whimpering in pain, but she let me hold her.

"Ahahaha~" The devil laughed at us. I frowned as I stood next to Aki, and we observed our opponent.

"Man, It's so annoying." Himeno complained. They already got one of us off fear, I hope it doesn't escalate more than that.

"Aki, If the fox swallows it, won't that end this?" Himeno asked.

Hm. It would be convenient if that was the solution the whole time, but...

"Kon."

Nothing is ever that easy.

Aki stood there with his hand up, but there was no response. "...Looks like the fox isn't coming. What did I expect, the main body's in Kyoto."

Himeno raised her hand now. "Guess I'll try then."

She made a crushing motion with her palm, and one of the heads on the lump of flesh exploded.

"OWW!" The devil cried. Himeno continued to kill parts of the body, causing the devil to scream for every wound, but nothing more than that happened... until it started to grow in retaliation.

"Geh! It got bigger!" Himeno exclaimed. It got slightly closer, but I motioned a quick flick of my wrist and fended it off for a moment.

"Tch. " I clicked my tounge. All it did was encourage the devil's ego.

"It's useless....." It groaned. "This is not my real body....."

Are you kidding me? How are we supposed to kill it then?!

"My heart is not here..." It told us. "This is inside my stomach! My weak point is not on the eight floor!"

"Contract with me or you will not leave with your life!"

We all stared at it in silence. All of us contemplating our next actions. If we're being completely honest, I'm sure I could injure it good, but I don't think I'm supposed to reveal my true form...
