[Dodge, Himeno!]

Heeding the Smoke Devil's warning, I faded away into smoke form to my right away from Akemi's position. With a piercing light, a yellow pillar of flash had attacked where I was before. I stayed in cloud form and tried to form a plan.

Damn! Smoke Devil! How am I supposed to reach Adina from the ground?

[It'll be tough. But don't forget, you can traverse to the air! Smoke is not chained by the ground!]

Eh..?! Can I? Feeling the enviroment, I tried to lift my self into the air. I couldn't feel much but I still felt contact with the water surface.

It's not working, Smoke Devil!

[No you dim woman! You have to think harder!]

Think harder?! It's not like we've been together for long, you devil!

[It's not my fault you can't fly!]

Looking again at Adina, she was charging multiple beams of light next to her figure. As she waved her arms in a fluid motion, all I could do is hope that I dodge it.

Each beam firing at my previous position, I'd hope each time that none of these would hit me-- even if I was in cloud form.

With the beams stopping for a moment, I took this as a free gap in between her attacks.

Finally materializing out of my cloud form, I summoned my whip and cracked it.

With a very long reach, I flogged my weapon at Adina's orb, trying to take her source of offense.

Adina swiped my whip away with a invisible shield, repelling my attack.

I dash forward to try and close the distance, but Adina continued to float calmly, raising her face to the sky.

"Oh, world... Come down and rain the sky with the stars above..."

Sensing more danger, I looked up in the sky and bit my lip.

Isn't this overpowered?!

With the skies shifting into a bright purple light, constellations up above begun to shake, causing stars to rain down.

They were faster than the light beams, and this time there were thousands of them.

[Quick! Cloud now--!]

I know!

Diving away into the water's surface, I dodged as much as I could as Adina looked down on me.

A-Ah!

Getting hit by a star that I missed right in my back, my eyes were abruptly blinded with a bright flash. This inadvertently caused me to return to my physical form, so I swung my whip horizontally, hoping to hit anything I couldn't see.

...?!

Coming into contact with someone who patted me on the back, I swung behind me in hopes of hitting Adina. Feeling my whip hit nothing, I was finally able to see again.

Unprepared though, I saw that Adina was behind me again and she whispered in my ear.

"Fall."

With a gentle flick of her fingers, I dropped to my knees with an invisible force from above.

"Grgh...!"

Trying to break free, I dispersed into the surroundings, turning into smoke particles, different from my cloud form.
