Eragon sat on Saphira's back looking over their new home as she soared in the sky. They had come upon the island that morning after three weeks of traveling and decided to see if it would meet the requirements for raising the dragons and riders.
As Eragon and Saphira took off to get a better look at the island Eragon thought it looked perfect, the island had a cliff lined shore making it almost impossible to enter the island except on dragonback. A few rivers ran the length of the island pouring into ponds and lakes, the whole top of the island was a large forest mixed with pines and oak among other trees, the center of the island was grassland and mainly flat and had a few trees and animals in it but that was about it, and finals covering the bottom of the island was large mountains that would be perfect for the wild dragons. As Eragon looked out over the island he told Saphira " the whole island is teeming with life, I think we have found our new home it has everything we are looking for and it is plenty of ways away from Alagaesia."
Saphira hummed in agreement saying " I believe your right, What do you think Glaedr, Umaroth?" Saphira asked the old dragons who were in their Eldunari, the dragons heart of hearts for they had just as much say in the decision as anyone.
There was silence for awhile and Eragon guessed the dragons were discussing the matter amongst themselves sense Eragon still had all the Eldunari he had found in the vault of souls with him when Umaroth said " We agree that the land seems suitable to the needs of the dragons and that this is were we should raise the them." Eragon laughed when he heard this, his voice booming in the sky along with Saphira's mighty roar.
"We have finally done it Saphira, no more being stuck on that accursed boat, no more wondering if we will ever see land again, were finally home!" Eragon was so excited he could hardly contain himself he said both mentally and physically "let's go back and let the others know!"
Saphira tilted downwards back towards the boat as she said in a cheerful voice " let's not waste anymore time!"
As they approached the boat Eragon cast his mind towards the boat looking for Blödhgarm, once he found the elf he asked him to have all the elfs come to the shore as soon as possible, which the elf agreed to do.
Once all the elves were out and on the beach Eragon and Saphira had landed Eragon began speaking saying " this will be the new home of the riders, it has everything we need to build as well as plenty of land for the dragons to roam and hunt."
The elves cheered as they heard the news and ran back to the boat to begin unloading at once, not wanting to stay on the boat any longer than necessary. As the elves unloaded the boat Eragon asked Blödhgarm to come with him to look for a suitable place to build there new homes.
After about a half an hour they had decided on a place between the forest and plains that was slightly elevated and not to far from the entrance where the boat was.
Once they flew back to the boat and elves and told them where they had decided and how to get there, the elves took off with packs on there back carrying most of everything. Eragon- with the help of the Eldunari- cast a second spell to carry the other Eldunari that were saved from Galbatorix to the new location
Saphira flew high above the elves as they
Traveled from the beach, through the valley in between the mountains, and to the spot they had decided to make there homes. As they flew Eragon asked "what do you think it will be like Saphira, to have other dragons and riders around and to be in one place for more than a few months?"
Saphira snorted and in a amused voice said "I'm not sure honestly, sense I was young we have always traveled it almost seems impossible to stay in one place."
Eragon smiled hearing this and thought of all there travels and as he did a sense of longing came over him, he missed his old friends but he mostly missed Brom and Oromis sense he would never see them again. Saphira felt his sadness and said in a soothing voice " don't be sad little one they would have been proud of all we have done, they wouldn't want you to be sad on there account."
His mood slightly lightened from thinking on what they would say Eragon told her " well Brom would hit me upside the head and tell me to be a man and Oromis would
talk about how death is part of the cycle of life." Saphira chuckled out loud and in his head he heard another laugh as well and realised it was Glaedr, he has almost forgot that the old dragon was with them sense he was so quiet.
Glaedr spoke to them saying " that sounds exactly like something Oromis would have said, I miss him greatly. Eragon was at a loss for words as was Saphira, neither knew what to say on the subject, they both missed him as well but it would be nothing compared to what Glaedr would. As Glaedr slowly left there minds Eragon realized they had almost made it across the plains to there destination. Once Saphira landed Eragon and the elves began setting up there tents. As they finished and everyone settled down for the night Eragon sat with Saphira and watched them thinking of all that was to come when suddenly a loud crack was heard followed by a small squeak from where Eragon had sat some of the wild dragon eggs.
Hey guys how'd you like the chapter? I tried my best to make the dragons and Eragon sound like they should! Also I have a question for you y'all, do you think I should do POVs for Bratix's and Hazel's dragons? Or just stick to the riders? Also if you guys could tell me some dragon names I should use that would be awesome! Like comment and share with your friends!!!
-ChrisP.s the picture is what the island looks like somewhat with less mountains more forest and more rivers
