Day 12

Time: 7:30 AM

Location: Fourth Moon Quarter Detention Building

The door swung shut with a heavy clang, making Darius, Greg and Ai jump. The person who looked them in turned the key with a resounding click, and then walked away, not even giving them a backwards look.

The three of them were left in awkward silence, but not for long.

In that time, though, Ai finally got past the shock to ask: "What happened?"

Darius blinked, broken out of his frozen surprise, and shook his head, hardly able to believe it himself. "I... well, I have no idea, but... I think we got betrayed. I don't know."

"Don't worry," Greg said resolutely. "frog will get us out. I'm sure he's on his way right now!"

If that thing is intelligent to break us out of prison, Darius thought, then I think we've got bigger problems. But he made sure not to say it out loud.

Technically, he wasn't even sure if this was prison, as when he asked the police why they were being taken to prison exactly, they had only said that this wasn't a prison, it was a detention holding center. He also didn't answer the actual question, annoyingly.

And now they were stuck here, in this very prison cell-like detention center, in silence. But, as stated before, not for long.

"You can't just think this is okay!" someone was saying, and Darius' head perked up at the new voice. He exchanged a look with Ai, but Ai didn't seem to recognize the voice. "You know it's wrong!"

There was a pause where the other person, as Darius was assuming there was at least one other person, didn't answer.

"At least tell us why we're being locked up!" Robyn yelled indignantly. Finally, she came around the corner, along with the police, as expected, but also, with Molly, who was uncharacteristically silent, looking around with wide eyes. When she spotted Darius, Greg and Ai, her eyes widened even further, and she frowned.

Darius' heart sank as he saw them as well. It couldn't be a coincidence that all of them had been locked up at the same time. This did not bode well for any of them.

Just like the questions previous, the police did not answer this question, she only lead the two of them to the cell beside Darius, Greg and Ai's, and then forced them in, much to Robyn's annoyance. She continued yelling at the policewomen, despite the fact that it got no reaction, before finally giving up, moving to the far wall and sinking down it, crossing her arms as she glared at the floor.

Molly looked at Robyn worriedly, looking concerned. But to Darius' surprise, she turned to them first.

"Are you all alright?" Molly asked them, concerned. "Do you know what's happening?"

"I... suspect," Darius replied honestly. He shook his head. "But it makes no sense...!"

"We got betrayed," Ai said quietly, repeating Darius' words from earlier. Molly's eyes widened.

"What?!" he whispered frantically, instinctively lowering her voice despite the fact that the secret was likely out by now. "By who?! Who would-?! It wasn't us, I swear!"

"No, no, not by any of you," Darius assured her quickly. Obviously Molly wouldn't know about his meeting with Luya, so she would have no reason to suspect them. "It's... um, you know what, I'll tell you later, it's... complicated. I just... I'm sorry, Molly, I think it's my fault."

Molly face crinkled into confusion, and then concern. Finally, she put on put on a reassuring smile, that, despite her best efforts, was still a little tinged with worry.
