Felix walked out of the infirmary without taking a glance around the infirmary and the people inside it.

Jessica clenched her fist at her sides when Felix didn't even bother to look a second look at her.

'This is that B*tch fault!' she cursed Jasmine for calling her intimately in front of Felix. Now Felix thought she was friends with an inmate, a criminal.

Jessica and Jasmine first became friends when Jasmine came to have her wounds treated after other inmates inflicted it on her. When Jasmine came, she saw the branded clothes that Jessica was wearing and she praised how Jessica looked beautiful in it.

From there, they started to talk about fashion. From clothes to bags and spiral into gossip among the fashion owners.

Jasmine was really well-versed in fashion since she came from Alscot, where most of the popular international brands were from.

Jessica got carried away being friendly with Jasmine, when Jasmine said she worked with the Swift Corp, which was a big corporation that was the mother of these fashion brands. Jasmine told her that she would give Jessica discounts coupons for brands that Jessica likes.

However, Jessica forgot that they were in a prison and Jasmine was an inmate. Those were just empty promises, especially knowing that Jasmine was a death row inmate.

After Felix left the infirmary, he headed towards his office to change his soiled clothes. He could quickly go back to change his clothes when Jasmin first vomited on him, however, seeing Jasmine's condition, he got worried and sent her to the infirmary to get a rest.

Jasmine was faced with a betrayal and was almost assaulted the day before, she had cried her heart out and Felix was sure she had continued crying in her cell. She must have been tired when she woke up this morning.

However, she had to perform her duty as an inmate. That was fine. But what Felix encountered in the bathroom could make Jasmine fall sick.

Seeing her pale face and frail body, Felix felt pity for her. Thus, he subtly helped with bringing her to the infirmary and asked the doctor to make Jasmine rest for the whole day.

Felix couldn't help to replayed Jasmine's face when he put the handcuff on her. Her begging expression was etched in his mind.

Entering his office, Felix walked toward a cabinet and stood in front of it. He opened the cabinet door to reveal a room behind it.

Felix didn't know the room had existed before. Only after he explored every nook and cranny of the room, he found this attached room with its door disguised as a cabinet door.

Inside the room, there was a round shaped velvet bed. It wasn't big, however; it was enough for two people to sleep on it, if they huddled together.

The room was lit with a dimmed light of purple hue, which gave a frown on Felix's face. It gave out a romantic vibe to the room. It just reminded Felix of a room in a nightclub.

'Did the head warden install the wrong bulb or something?' he wondered. Felix took note in his mind to change the bulb into a normal warm tone one.

Other than the bed, there was also a shower room inside this lounge room. Felix was thankful for this, especially at times like this, where he was covered in vomit.

Felix headed towards the shower room, while grabbing a towel on the rack along the way.

Striping off his clothes, Felix entered the shower and twisted the faucet knob. He let the hot water sprinkle on his skin.

He took a bar of soap, lathered it on his body to wash away the smell that had stuck to him.

'Did the inmates get a hot shower, too?' Felix suddenly had this question popped up in his mind.

He had heard stories about life inside a prison before. They said hot showers were rare and if they were one, the hot water usually ran for a short time only. The food here was bland and there was always a brawl that broke out inside a prison.

"It must be hard for her living here. She looks so frail," he murmured.

After he was done with the shower, Felix walked out of the shower room with a towel wrapped around his lower body. He headed towards the small wardrobe and took out his spare uniform.

Looking at the uniform, Felix released a sigh.

He never thought he would opt to become a warden. He was an excellent policeman and was good at his missions. Any mission that he took resulted in success, even how impossible it looked like.

His chief was so proud to have him in their team. Thus, it was a surprise for the chief when one day Felix suddenly came to him and asked if he could be transferred to become a warden in Black River Prison.

He told the chief that he wanted to have a break from mission life and become a warden here, to have a quiet life.

Of course, the chief was sceptical of his reason. This adrenaline junkie who always jumped into danger wanted a quiet life?

What bullshit!

However, after some careful thoughts and discussion with the higher ups, they agreed to let Felix be a warden in the Black River Prison.

And the timing was perfect as the previous Head Warden was heading to his retirement.

Thus, the higher ups made Felix take over the position of the Head Warden. However, it wasn't really out of the goodness of their heart. They had their own reason for it.

Felix didn't have any qualms about it as his request to be transferred was fulfilled. It was a win-win situation for both Felix and the police force.

The chief had questioned Felix for his reason for becoming a warden. However, Feix didn't tell him and stuck to the reason that he wanted a quiet life.

Not wanting to pressure Felix to give him the answer, the chief told Felix he was welcomed to come back to the police force if he had enough of his 'quiet life'.

There were two personal reasons that made Felix want to work as a warden in this prison. One was something that he had just discovered recently from Vince.

And the other one was because of her, the green-eyed lady.
