Felix was reminiscing about the last couple of months when his phone rang, pulling him to reality. He was still in his towel, staring at his uniform hanging in the closet.
He walked towards the table where he had placed his phone and looked at the caller's name.
"Thinking of this devil and he came," he murmured.
"What do you want, Vince?" asked Felix as soon as he picked up the call.
"Bro! You changed your career? Is it because of the favour I asked or because of the other matter?" Vince took a pause, "Of course it is because of the other thing. Why would you become a warden for Miss Paxton," Vince mumbled on the other side of the line.
"If you don't have anything important to say, I'm going to hang up," said Felix. He pressed the phone between his ear and shoulder, dropped the towel from around his waist and wore his boxer short.
"Wait! Don't hang up. So, how are things currently for Miss Paxton? How is she inside the prison?" asked Vince, with a hint of concern in his voice.
"You sound really worried about her. Are you sure you don't like her?" Asked Felix, his tongue licked on the bite mark that was on his lip, where Jasmine had bitten him the other day.
"I considered her one of my people. She's a good person and a great employee. It's a shame that she fell into this situation. I don't have to have a romantic feeling towards her to be concerned about her. Besides, I'm naturally a nice person. You should learn that from me. Be nice to others," Vince said.
"Save your preaches for others, Vince," said Felix.
"So?" Vince asked after Felix didn't answer his questions about Jasmine.
Remembering what had happened the day before, Felix's countenance darkened. "She needs a lawyer. Her previous lawyer is a scumbag."
"Ah, that's good! I was thinking about it. Her current lawyer was so bad, I don't understand where Jasmine finds him. I'm thinking of persuading Jasmine to change her lawyer. But now that the lousy lawyer is gone, it would be easier for me to offer her my help," Vince cheerfully said.
"You want to appoint a lawyer for her? Shouldn't you ask her opinion first?" asked Felix. 'Is Vince really didn't have feelings for Jasmine?'
"I will. I'm planning to visit her. Help me set the appointment for it," said Vince.
"Just come here and register for a visit like everyone else," sighed Felix.
"Can't you set the appointment for me?" Vince pouted on the other line.
"Tsk, Young Master Heinrich, this is Cratia not Alscot..."
"Fine. I'll do it myself," Vince cut Felix's sentences. "So, Felix..." Vince trailed, "do you know any good criminal lawyer in Cratia?" asked Vince.
Felix snorted, "The almighty Vince Heinrich can't find a lawyer?" Felix sarcastically asked.
"In Alscot, sure I can. But this is Cratia. You guys have different laws. I can't possibly appoint a lawyer who practises law in Alscot here, am I?" Vince said.
"Yeah. That would end badly," Felix commented. His mind was searching for any lawyer's name that stood up in his mind. "I'll get you the name of a lawyer that I know," Felix finally said.
"Alright. Send me their names. I'll look into it and do the rest," replied Vince. "Thank you, Felix," added Vince.
"Hmmm." Felix replied mindlessly. His mind was still occupied with something.
After a few seconds of silence, "Vince... " Felix called out for Vince's attention at the end of the line.
"Yes? What is it?" Asked Vince, in interest. It was rare for Felix to ask him anything.
"Do you know anything about Jasmine Paxton's boyfriend?" asked Felix.
"Miss Paxton's boyfriend?" Vince repeated Felix's query.
"Yes."
"I heard that she had a boyfriend. But I don't know him. He's not an employee of Swift corp," replied Vince. "Why?" Vince questioned.
"I think her so-called boyfriend was responsible for her situation," Felix answered.
"You think her boyfriend who made her get caught with drugs to Cratia? Are you sure?" Vince asked for surety. "I heard they had dated for a long time and he wanted to propose to her. That's why she flew to Cratia in the first place," Vince said.
Felix snorted, "There's no record that he entered Cratia at all," replied Felix.
When Jasmine hysterically asked for Joshua when she was caught at the airport, Felix secretly got someone to check if Joshua was in Cratia. However, they didn't find any evidence of Joshua's arrival in Cratia.
"I will look into it," Vince replied seriously.
"Whatever," replied Felix. He hung up the call, as he had nothing to say to Vince anymore.
Felix tossed the phone on the rounded bed and wore the rest of his clothes.

On the other side of the line,
"What a rude prick! Can't you be nice to me for once!" Vince complained when he heard the end tone of the call.
He tossed his phone on the table and leaned back on the sofa that he was sitting on.
"Her boyfriend, huh," Vince narrowed his eyes, and rubbed his chin.
"Assistant McCoy, give me Miss Paxton's background file," Vince asked who was standing behind him.
"Yes, Sir," the assistant answered and went to get the file.
The assistant came three seconds later, "here it is, Sir." He handed the file to Vince in a respectful manner.
Vince took the file from Assistant McCoy and opened the file to go through it.
When Jasmine was caught and the higher up of the company brought up the issue and questioned Vince's credibility, Vince asked his assistant to do a background check on Jasmine. Vince truly believed that Jasmine was innocent, and he wanted to prove that his judgement was right.
"Father is a policeman. Head of the narcotics department.... Valedictorian... Oakleaf University... " Vince was smiling while reading Jasmine's file.
Jasmine's background really appeared cleaned. There was nothing indicated that she was involved with drugs.
"Her life is really boring, and... she was too cheerful to look like a drug addict," Vince commented while looking at Jasmine's picture. In the picture, Jasmine's eyes were bright and crystal clear, and her smile was wide and sweet.
Vince flipped the pages and something caught his attention.
"Her best friend is Maya Smith," he said while staring at the other girl in the picture.
"Yeah, I've seen her in Swift Corp," commented Vince.
Vince continued reading Jasmine's file until he finally closed the file and put it down.
"Maybe this was not about Miss Paxton. I think this is bigger than I thought...."
