***Flashback

Felix scoffed while looking at the screen of his phone. On the screen was a reflection of a man that was tailing him since a couple of days ago.

These people won't ever leave him alone. That's why he hated to fly to this country. If not because of work, he won't ever want to step into Alscot, where their influence was the strongest.

Since he came because of his work obligation, he ignored those people who were following him like a shadow and went on his way.

His phone chimed, indicating a text message came in.

Thinking that it was related to his mission, Felix opened the message.

[I heard you're in Alscot. Let's meet up.]

Felix scowled, reading the text, "In your dreams," he mumbled and closed the message without replying to it.

Looking around where he was, Felix sighed. Years ago he left this country hoping to never come back here. He choose to settle on Cratia and joined their police force as he couldn't do it here.

Being in this country suffocated him. Just look at what had just happened, he thought he had been careful enough when he came into this country, but clearly their influences weren't a laughingstock. They already know he was here.

Felix walked towards the taxi stand and stopped a taxi, "To Livia Hotel?" he asked, and received a nod from the driver.

He got inside the taxi and closed his eyes to have a shut eye.

However, when he opened his eyes, he was not at the hotel where he was supposed to be. He was in the place where he hated to be seen.

"I should have known," he scoffed, "I'm not interested to see your boss. Bring me to my hotel," Felix said with gritted teeth.

Felix opened the text message and his eyes darkened.

Unwilling, he exited the taxi and slammed the passenger door shut.

He wore his cap and followed the taxi driver to ride on the elevator. Along the way, he leaked a threatening aura, making the taxi driver shiver. However, the taxi driver, or a disguised bodyguard to be precise, pulled his strong facade up to not appear like a weakling in front of Felix.

The floor where he was taken to was empty and Felix snorted, "at least he knows what I hate," he mumbled.

The bodyguard opened the door to the room and let Felix in. After Felix walked inside, the bodyguard sent a curt nod towards the people inside the room and closed the door. He left the floor to go back to the taxi where he had taken Felix before to wait for the latter to be done with his business with his boss.

"Welcome back!" the other person inside the room asked.

"What do you want, Vince?" asked Felix in annoyance. He took off his cap and combed his hair back.

"I'm welcoming my brother back. I haven't seen you for a long time. Let me look at you," Vince said, and scanned Felix up and down. "You look healthy," Vince commented.

"Of course I'm healthy. Do you think I'll starve if I leave the family?" Felix scoffed.

Vince scrunched his nose, "I don't mean that. You are tenacious. I know you can survive anywhere," said Vince.

"I'm tired. What do you want?" Felix asked in a tired voice.

"Just wanted to see you. I know you won't willingly come to see me, so I have to use my way to meet you," replied Vince.

"And you think taking me here is the best choice?" Felix asked Vince and threw him a disdained look.

"Don't you know? The safest place is under the enemy's nose? Aren't you a police officer? You should know this," Vince grinned, showing his row of white teeth. "I even empty the floor for you. I want to spread the red carpet for you, but you know, time restrained," Vince playfully added.

Felix ignored Vince's words and looked around the office.

Seeing that, Vince said, "I have to sacrifice to let you have your freedom," he mirrored Felix's movement to look around his office.

"Bullsh*t. You didn't look like you suffered. You enjoyed this life," Felix said.

Vince laughed at hearing that.

"I hated it at first. I'm jealous of you. Having a life full of action, catching the bad guys. However, after sometimes," Vince nodded his head, "it's not bad. Bad guys are everywhere. And these people, they are worse than those criminals that you caught. Scheming and playing mind games. It was so much fun," Vince said in satisfaction.

"I'm glad. Enjoy your life," Felix simply said.

"Yeah. But now," Vince loosened his tie and opened a few buttons of his shirt, "Let's have some action, I never skipped my training. Let's see if I can match with Cratia policeman. I haven't sparred with you for a long time," Vince stretched to loosen his muscles.

"Here?" asked Felix.

"What? Did you only fight with the criminal in an open space?" asked Vince sarcastically.

Placing his cap on the table, Felix stretched his neck.

"I'll pass. Too tired to keep up with your nonsense. I want to go to the hotel to rest," said Felix.

"You no fun," complained Vince. Vince walked towards the couch, however halfway there, he stopped and turned to look at Felix, "I heard they talked about your... 'her'," Vince said after some hesitation.

Felix glared sharply at Vince, "I don't want to hear anything about her," he clenched his jaw and his blue-grey eyes were showing complicated emotions. He knew what Vince was referring to.

"Felix, she didn't leave you for another man," said Vince seriously. He stared at Felix's face without any hint of playfulness.

Furrowing, "what do you know?" asked Felix.

"Not everything. But I know she didn't leave you because of another man, and her leaving had something to do with them," replied Vince.

Felix dashed towards Vince and bunched up his shirt collar.

"Tell me, what do you know?" he asked in a threatening voice.

Vince was caught off guard when Felix held his collar. He knew the subject of that woman was sensitive to Felix. He didn't know Felix would give such a big reaction like this.

When Felix pounced on him, he stumbled back and hit the flower vase on the table next to the couch. The flower vase dropped to the floor, making a loud crashing sound and Vince and Felix fell onto the couch with Felix on top of Vince.

And that's the scene where Jasmine saw when she dashed into Vince's office after hearing the crashing sounds.
