After a brief lunch period, the students began to gather back into the stadium to get ready for the final game.
Kirishima: The last one is a tournament where we fight one-on-one, huh? I'm gonna stand on that stage that I watch every year on TV!
Mina, in her gym uniform: Was it a tournament last year?
Sero: It's different every year, but there's a one-on-one competition every year. Last year, it was a sports chanbara match.
Midnight: Now, let's draw lots to determine the bracket. Once the bracket is determined, we'll have the recreational games and then start! The sixteen finalists can choose whether or not they want to participate in the recreation. I'm sure some of you want to rest or save your strength. This is the bracket based on the results of the drawing!
The bracket quickly displayed the names of the top 16 students as the crowd went wild.
The first round would be Tadayoshi vs. Midoriya.
Kouga: Simple enough.
Kouga turned to see Midoriya profusely sweating, who promptly looked him in the eyes and turned away.
Kouga: Don't think he's too happy about that, though.
Kouga walked to look for his friends who had made it, meeting with Ochako.
Ochako: B-B-Bakugo...
Kouga: Wait, what!?
Kouga turned to look at the bracket again and yep, the last round would be Uraraka vs. Bakugo.
Kouga: There's gotta be some sort of misunderstanding, right!?
Ochako was pale as Kouga put his hand on her head.
Kouga: Snap out of it!
Ochako: B-B-Bakugo...
Kouga: Damn it, I said...
Kouga reeled his head back.
Ochako: O-Oh, Kouga-
Kouga, headbutting Ochako: Snap out of it!!
Ochako felt her very soul snap in half as she crumpled to the floor.
Kouga: Shit! I'm sorry!
Kouga could see Ochako's soul leaving her body from her mouth, but frantically grabbed it and stuffed it back into her body.
Kouga, panicking: A-Are you still alive, Ochako?
Ochako, weakly: No...
Kouga: I-I'm so sorry! I didn't think it'd hurt that bad!
Ochako, getting up: I-I'll be fine, just warn me next time!
Kouga: I'm sorry! It was a heat-of-the-moment idea!
Kouga sighed as Ochako let out a small giggle.
Kouga: Anyways, how are you feeling about the whole Bakugo thing?
Ochako: Honestly? I think I'm going to die.
Kouga: It'll be fine, we still have a long time before the fights start. Maybe we can think of any strategies that you can use to beat him
Ochako, sighing: If there are any...
Kouga, grabbing her shoulder with his free hand: Ochako, I know you more than anyone else here. You're determined, you're strong, and you can put up a damn good fight. And if you can beat Bakugo, then the world would know just how strong you are!
Ochako's face started to light up as Kouga continued to speak.
Kouga: If I'm going to be completely honest... You're the strongest person I know. Maybe not physically, but emotionally. You've got what it takes to beat this loser, and I'll be here to help you take him!
