-3rd Person POV-
-6:32 Pm, Sunday, Two Weeks Later-
Over the next two weeks, the students of U.A. would start training themselves for the U.A. Sports Festival, especially Kouga. That would be the only thing he could focus on, the only thing he could think about. As much as he hated training every day, as much as he hated trying to control his powers, as much as he wished he could just give up and relax, he had to continue. He had just come out of nearby woodland after an especially long and exhausting training session.
Kouga, shading his eyes: Sun's settin'.
He took a moment to just sit and watch the sun fade into warm reds and pinks as it began to set for the day. Because of how dark it was getting, there weren't many people out, so he had the area to himself. He could finally just think to himself in peace for once. He let the cool breeze of the incoming nightfall sweep over him as it moved the branches of the trees around him. He took a moment to look at the cast that was still on his arm.
Kouga: This damn thing should be healed by now, why's it taking so long?
Kouga's broken bones before, more times than he can count. But every time his bones would break, they would be healed, better than they were before by the next day. But now his arm is washed with a searing pain whenever he tries to acknowledge it, and it would hurt more and more with each passing day. He became scared that he wouldn't be able to use his arm anymore, that he would lose his only shot at being a hero. As much as he tried to push those thoughts to the back of his mind, they would appear now and again.
He snapped his gaze away from his arm to feel his phone ringing on a nearby bench, sluggishly groaning as he picked himself off the ground. The phone call was from Maiko.
Kouga, answering the phone: 'sup?
Maiko: You ready for the Sports Festival tomorrow?
Kouga: How could I not be, it's basically been the only thing on my mind for the last 2 weeks or so.
Maiko: I know, I know. I'm just checking up, heard you were being a little hard on yourself, that's all.
Kouga, slightly embarrassed: Who told you that?
Maiko: Take a guess.
Kouga sighed: Ochako?
Maiko: Bingo, why aren't you calling her?
Kouga, under his breath: Fear.
Maiko: Huh?
Kouga: Nothing, it's not important. Anyways, how's your training?
Maiko: Don't change the subject on me, Beast Boy.
Kouga, laughing a little: Mina got to you too?
Maiko: Mhm, now tell me, why are you ignoring her?
Kouga paused for a moment, he felt like he was being watched. There was someone around him, in the woods. It had to be him. He closed his eyes for a moment and started to feel the breeze around him, using his instincts to sense the world around him. He could see the silhouettes of the trees, down to the details of the bark on each branch, he could count each segment of the ants in the trees. But strangely, there was no one there. Only the trees, the wind, and the insects. Now would be the perfect time to tell someone about what was going on.
Kouga, concealing his mouth and whispering: Beast Man found out about Ochako, and I'm scared that I'll get her hurt.
Maiko: Oh shit?
Kouga: I don't know how, but he was at the mall with me just a few weeks ago. He said her full name.
Maiko: That's not good, oh shit.
