Suzu has still yet to notice the connections with the killings to what happened to Mino. How could she when in reality, the attacks were nothing similar? If Mino really had been attacked by the same person doing all those stabbings then why wouldn't his parents want to press charges? It'd probably help authorities build a stronger case.
In reality though, they weren't similar at all. The two victims had been women so far and they had been attacked with a Buck 120 hunting knife and nothing else, well strangulation too. Mino was attacked by a wooden pallet that had a piece broken off and that had been used to rob him. The victims didn't have a single thing stolen from their persons meanwhile all of Mino's possessions had been taken. It made her skin crawl knowing whoever she was texting after the incident hadn't been Mino at all.
This was the worst time to think about those things too. It's like when you're walking up the stairs at night and suddenly imagine a dark figure running after you? That's what Suzu is going through right now. All of a sudden she's deeply regretting her late night walk to the convenience store in her dark neighborhood.
In her defense she was tipsy and so was Jia and Jimin who waited for her at her apartment. None of them really thought about anything aside from more Soju and since it was such close distance Suzu decided to walk. Now that her mind's cleared up she's realizing their mistake because she's absolutely terrified. It's what had her reaching for her phone to call the one person she's been seeing a lot lately.
"I was just thinking about you," Jungkook chuckled as he picked up the call on the first ring. That brought a small smile to her face, already feeling more at ease on her walk. It was practically pitch black side from the street light but that's a big difference to Suzu. Compared to before she moved to Korea, her neighborhoods weren't so dark. Here, there's alleyways practically at every corner and with one street light someone can pop up from anywhere. Garages were in shadows, cars barely noticeable, everything was sloped, and quiet.
"Am I bothering you or can you talk for a minute?" Suzu asked turning around a little only to make sure she knew her surroundings. Just then something black caught her eye going down a different alley than she was. She looked forward again waiting for Jungkook's response when she began picking up her pace.
There was a small tingle down her spine, a light sensation that had her turning back again to make sure she was alone. Maybe she was being paranoid but it felt like someone else was around. Jungkook was answering her, "Just a minute? What if I want to talk more?"
She rounded a corner just a few streets away from her apartment now not as worried as before. A smile came to her face ready to respond.
