Is this the Twilight Zone?

"Is everything alright over there?" Fredbear asked, seeing as the three kids were not budging from the entrance of the supposed basement.

"Are they broken or something, Fred?" SpringBonnie whispered over to the yellow bear.

"You know we can hear you," Elizabeth answered in a deadpan tone, giving the rabbit a look.

"If you can, then how come you don't answer?" SpringBonnie shot back, returning a look of his own toward the girl who stuck out her tongue at it.

Michael rubbed his eyes, pinching himself in the process in case he was seeing things. When opening them, what he was seeing was real. The door remained in its black-and-white state of self, not the usual brown-red door they used to see.

"Mikey, did father ever get a new door for the basement?" C.C tugged on his older brother's arm, snapping him out of his stupor.

"Of course not dummy, if he did then I would've known about it. I'm not sure what that is." While Michael is sure their father did things to the house when they were not there, it was usually he who would spot the changes.

"Now, that's not a very kind thing to say to your brother." Fredbear shook its head disapprovingly at Michael, who just gave him a look.

"Can I touch the spooky-looking door, Mikey?" Elizabeth was ever eager to throw caution to the wind.

"No, stupid, I will see if it's safe first. Or else mum is going to kick my ass if anything happens to you or C.C." Michael flicked her forehead.

"Fear not children, I'll protect you if anything should happen. I am capable of handling these types of situations." Security Puppet placed a comforting hand on Elizabeth, who slapped the puppet's hand away.

"Don't touch me." Elizabeth warned, she didn't like when strangers would lay a finger on her, not even the animatronics at her daddy's work.

"Well, since you handle these kinds of situations, then you might as well come with me." Michael motioned for the Security Puppet to follow him.

C.C and Elizabeth moved aside for the animatronic as they and Michael descended the stairs. Oddly enough, Michael didn't feel any sense of dread when walking to the strange door; if anything, it felt like he was getting closer to somewhere safe. Coming face to face with the door, his heart began to race; despite the door giving him a sense of security, he had his share of doubts. Glancing behind, he could see Elizabeth and C.C staying close together, watching him with anticipation, the same went for the other two animatronics who looked more than ready to jump in and help if required.

Taking a silent breath as his shoulders tensed, he reached for the door. A warm sensation overtook him as he grasped the black door knob, pushing the wooden white door open, revealing another staircase going up. The beating of his heart grew louder in his ears, seeing that there no longer was a basement; their father was no longer there. Everything felt as if it were spinning, the lights were too bright, his hands were now clammy, and everything felt too much that he felt the need to hurl.

He thought he heard someone calling his name, but that couldn't be right. His siblings were safe back up the stairs, and he doubts the Security Puppet knew his name. It felt like being underwater without the water and more of drowning instead of swimming; he didn't know when his throat started to hurt.

".M...Mich...Micha...el... Michael! Michael!" Two voices broke him from the spell he was under; he could feel a pair of small hands grabbing his arm, while small arms were embracing his waist.

"Wha-What are you two doing down here, I thought I told you two-?" Michael looked down at the concerned pair of eyes of C.C and Elizabeth before he was interrupted.

"That may have been my fault, I tried talking you down but saw it wasn't working, so I called down your siblings to see if they could snap you out of it." Security Puppet told him with sincerity that was too human for an animatronic.

The two other animatronics were now closer down the stairs, although more hovering than being right close.

"We were worried about you, Mikey." Elizabeth hugged and pulled his arm into a hug while C.C just embraced his waist tighter.

"I'm fine, see, everything is alright." Michael sighed softly, bringing Elizabeth into a hug, patting C.C's head affectionately.

"I hate to ruin the moment, but I think there's supposed to be a basement here and not another staircase." Security Puppet spoke up.

If looks could kill, Security Puppet would be dead where it stood, with Elizabeth boring a death glare at the poor animatronic.

"Yeah, that's right..." That was all Michael said about it; he knew he would have to speak about this with his siblings, as well as his mum.

"Didn't your-" Fredbear's question was caught off with SpringBonnie elbowing his chest.

"Read the room, Fred, now is not the time." SpringBonnie motioned his head to the kids all clumped together.

"Heya Mikey, doesn't that look like our stairs?" C.C pointed to the other staircase.

"Now that you mentioned it...it does." Michael glanced beyond the black-and-white door, seeing that both staircases were identical.

"Well, I'm going to check it out." Elizabeth wriggled out of Michael's embrace, running up the identical staircase.

"Elizabeth, get back here, you brat!" Michael grabbed C.C's arm as he chased after Elizabeth.

Thanks to this kind of situation being a regular occurrence for the Afton kids, it was easy for Michael to run up the stairs with either C.C or Elizabeth in tow. There were a few times when he ran up the stairs with them both. Surprisingly, Elizabeth didn't get very far, only stopping a few steps away from the stairs and gapping at the new surroundings.

"Elizabeth, how many times do I have to tell you not to run off by yourself, you're gonna get yourself hurt one of these days, I swear," Michael let out a slightly frustrated sigh as he placed a hand on her shoulder.

"Mikey look! Look it! This place looks so cool!" Elizabeth excitedly pointed in different directions at their new surroundings.

Looking away from Elizabeth, he too couldn't help but feel slack jawed at what he was seeing. To put it simply, it looked like a mash of their house, a pizzeria, and a workshop for animatronics, with a futuristic look to it. A bizarre combination that somehow worked, though the odd thing out was a ball pit tucked into the corner of the room.

"This place is so huge, Mikey! It feels like being inside a mansion." Elizabeth grinned from ear to ear, twirling around.

"I like this place too, Mikey." C.C's eyes were wide with wonder.

"Well, I'll be...this place is amazing." Fredbear joined in the spell of wonderment as it surveyed the area.

Michael had almost forgotten the animatronics were there if it hadn't been for Fredbear speaking up. The animatronics barely came up the stairs, seeing as the staircase was a bit narrow for them it made sense. Letting the moment pass, Michael couldn't help but notice a piece of paper lying on one of the couches; said paper was propped up on a pillow. Taking the paper, he read the first couple of lines; his eyes widening.

"Oi everyone, get over here you need to hear this!" Michael whistled sharply, his siblings let out a groan as they were eager to check the place while the animatronics complied. As they gathered around, he started from the top, now reading aloud.

"To the Afton Siblings and the first wave of animatronics.

You all have been brought here for a purpose; what that will be revealed in due time. There will be five more waves, each a week apart from one another, for adjustment reasons. The door that you step through is a gateway to a place where time does not exist yet, past, present, and future all stand still. Which is the reason some of the things you see are not from your time. This place has opened to you as well the first and the other wave of animatronics; as the waves commence, more rooms will be opened. Now...as for Mr. Afton, he no longer exists at the moment, he is not dead, but elsewhere for the time being, and will be brought back in the later future. He will have no recollection of anything except falling asleep, and if push comes to shove a stand-in will be provided. That is all I can say for now, take care, you will need it."
