Whoa I'm back! I had to wait until my fixation on SDV came back or else the book quality would be ass. Also for certain things I am gonna change up cause hehe haha.

That morning was a crude awakening as Nixie dropped a pitcher on the floor. I jumped up and rushed out of my bedroom to see her picking up the plastic container and mopping the puddle up.

"Scared me." I mumbled. I was about to go back to bed but stopped to look at her outfit. She was wearing a dark blue skirt with a fancy top that had a small bat in the corner. Her hair was fixed in a ponytail. "What's this?" I asked, referencing her outfit. She gave me a small smile and then did a small twirl. "It's for the Flower Dance today." I tilted my head at her words and then jumped up excitedly, "when does it start?" She thought for a moment.

"It starts in an hour I think. Do you have a dress?" She asked. I nodded and walked into my room to head towards the closet. I had a beautiful lace light blue dress that stopped above my knees. I decided to put a cute daisy in my hair and then swirled around a few times to test it out. It was beautiful and didn't fall!

"Who are you going to dance with?" Nixie asked as she opened the front door. I nibbled my lip and shrugged. I had not thought that far along but I still was determined to have an amazing time at this dance.

Me and Emily giggled at how Nixie and Sebastian talked further away from others in hushed voices. Her face was flushed slightly and he had a small smile on his face.

"You think they're doing it?" Emily asked. I gasped and put my hand on my mouth, "Emily!" She laughed out loud and gave me a soft little nudge on my arm. Soon, Penny walked over with her arms around herself and a shy smile. "What're you guys talking about?"

"Just how Nixie is warming up to Seb super quick." Emily explained and then looked at me with a small grin. "Who are you gonna dance with?"

I glanced at Shane.

"Oh! You're gonna do it?" She gasped. I looked at her quickly, "what?!"
Emily laughed and Penny even giggled softly. "You're really gonna make me say it? It's obvious you wanna ask Shane." Emily pointed out. Penny agreed.
"Your eyes do seem to follow him..." I fumbled with my dress and then sucked a bunch of air up before walking away and straight up to Shane, hearing Emily and Penny giggling to each other. He glanced up at me.

"Hey, Shane." I put my hands behind my back. "How're you liking the food?"

He shrugged, "it's alright, I guess..." he looked me over, "I didn't take you for one to wear dresses." I wilted at his comment but quickly cleared my throat and stepped closer when I saw people gathering to dance. "Do you wanna dance?" I asked. Shane looked taken back for a moment and he looked around as if I was really asking him.

"Um... sure."

Now it was my turn to look surprised. "Really?" I asked and he responded by holding out his hand with a bored look on his face. We walked to the middle of the field and someone turned on the radio. The women and men lined on the opposite side of each other and then the man would walk closer and hold the woman on her waist to spin her around once, then the woman would hold around his neck as they swayed back and forth- the man's hands never leaving.

Shane and me looked right at each other and I watched him get closer and closer until his hands were on my waist. He spun me around and then I put my hands around his neck. "So what's the flower dance about?" I asked. Shane kind of looked to the side before answering. "Mostly just celebrating the last day of Spring, I guess. It's not too bad if you have a partner to dance with..."
"You like this?"
"Okay let's not get too far ahead of ourselves." Shane smiled softly and then spun me around again. He looked to the side again but this time pointed out Nixie and Sebastian dancing. "That guy really likes your sister."
"She's just my best friend." I explained, "basically sisters yeah but not blood related." Shane dipped me quickly then spun around again and the dance continued.
"Really? What made you come to Pelican Town anyway?" Shane asked. I felt happy at his questions and curiosity.
I sighed but kept my eyes on his dark green eyes, "I lived with Nixie for awhile back in the city. My parents forced me out after they found out about some really tough things and blamed me for it..." I said. Shane seemed surprised by my truthful explanation and what I said.
"Sorry." I said.
"For what? It's okay. I just... didn't think you were going to tell me that so easily." He confessed, his hold on me kind of tightening.
"Why wouldn't I? You're my friend." I said as he dipped me again. I loved how in sync we were with everyone else. I could tell the dance was coming to a close.
"Every time you say that I never know whether to take you seriously or not... I guess I should believe you like talking to me." Shane said with a chuckle.

The dance finally ended with a bow from the men and a courtesy from the women. I smiled and straightened my dress out of being fidgety. "That was really great. Thank you." I said.
"It was fun, I guess... see you around, Bambi." Shane gave a shrug. I watched him walk through the crowd quickly.

I decided I was going to try even harder to convince him that he is definitely not a burden to me.
