We got down from the limo and stepped into the hall. I felt so nervous...Dad never let me go to such events and I didn't know how to behave.
"Princess,your hand is shaking....Be yourself...No one can say anything bad about you"he said and I smiled a bit. We were given a special seat. The MC came up and started a whole speech..I heard Lorenzo yawn.
"It's so boring"I said lowly
" I know..I just want to get out of here"he said and I laughed.
The auction later began...They brought out different ornaments and I remained calm till I saw a book being brought out. It seemed very mythological and it was very expensive.
"It's so beautiful"I said to myself
The bidding started moving higher and higher till I heard a masculine voice beside me say " 15 million". I darted my eyes at Lorenzo in shock.
"Going to Mr.Lorenzo..once..twice and sold"
"Did you just spend 15 million on a book for me"I asked
"I would spend more if I had to,princesa"he said amusingly.
"You didn't have to"I said

Later on....
We stood in the hall when someone came over to us.
"Capo,It is an honor to see you"the man said
"Can you get straight to what you want?"Lorenzo snapped.
"I wanted to discuss an alliance proposal with you.... I'm sure your beloved date won't mind"the man said and looked at me.
"I wouldn't mind..You can go ahead"I said
"Call me at any time,princesa"he said genuinely and squeezed my hand before he walked away with the man.
I stood at the corner there sipping the champagne in my hand when I saw him....I saw My father from a distance and I panicked.
He walked up to me and I pulled away.
"Is that a way to greet your father?"he said
"Stay away from me"I said my voice choking. He abused me..I hated him.
"What an ungrateful girl? I helped you to get a man like Lorenzo De Luca"he said
"You fucking sold me to him..What if he was a rapist? "I said back.
"Now you can speak"he said angrily and I watched as people at the event stopped and stared at us.
And I realized that girl died....
"I'm not afraid of you....You disgust me and I regret knowing you as my father...I fucking hate you"I yelled angrily.
"How dare you?"
He rose his hands ready to strike me when someone held his hands. I could see Lorenzo's green eyes full of anger. My father cowered in fear.
"What do you think you were trying to do?"he said his voice laced with venom.
"Noth..ing"my father stammered
"What I just witnessed isn't nothing? You tried to touch my wife....You aren't afraid of the beast,are you?"he said
"She is still my daughter..and I have the right to punish her"my father said trying to act bold.
"Her name is no longer Adele Castillo but her name is Adele De Luca. She isn't your daughter...Blood doesn't define the definition of a family....I wonder how a man can raise an angel like her....This is war..Mr.Castillo"he said and pulled me away. I followed him stumbling as I walked as people watched on. I didn't expect him to carry me away.
