𝐇𝐢𝐝𝐝𝐞𝐧 𝐒𝐢𝐝𝐞

Chapter One

Rue woke up the next morning as her head was pounding. Her curly hair was a mess and she looked around noticing the position she put herself in. Rue looked beside her noticing the man. She then noticed that she was naked. Rue gathered her clothes and threw them on. She tried to be quiet as possible and not wake the man up. After successfully leaving the room, she went downstairs and left the club heading towards her apartment.

Once she made it to her apartment, Rue went to the bathroom and showered. In the shower, many thoughts filled her mind. Rue began to remember the events from last night. A smile appeared on her face. 'Christian' was his name and she hoped to see him again one day. She turned the shower off and grabbed a towel to dry herself. Rue charged her phone while getting dressed. She noticed all the hickeys on her body.

Rue looked at the time and realized she needed to get to work. Walking into the library, she clocked in and looked at what position she needed to work. She had to be the librarian today. Rue placed her bag down and tucked a strand of her curly hair. "How are you?" Someone asks and Rue smiles at the regular who comes to the library often.

"I'm fine, thank you for asking" Rue replies with a smile as she grabs the two books scanning them. "That's good to know. I heard you went out yesterday, how was it?" Rue grabbed the library card from the man scanned it and handed it back to him. "It was the most fun I've had" Rue replied as she clicked a few things on the computer screen and waited for the printer to print out the due dates.

"So I've heard. The man you met last night, did you know him?" He said taking the paper from, Rue. Rue felt weirded out by him. "How did you know I was with a man?" Rue asked. "Everyone in this town gossips. I'm surprised they haven't warned you about Christian Yu" he replied. Rue relaxed a bit before saying, "Yes I've heard about him. They told me to stay away from him". The man suddenly started to chuckle. "What?" Rue asked. The man stopped, "The man you were with was Christian Yu".

Rue's face went pale. How could she manage to slip up? She tried to process everything in her mind but two things lingered on it. How could she sleep with him and how is she going to tell Mrs. Jackie?

The man left after checking his things out. Rue felt uneasy and sick to her stomach but confused. What was so bad about Christian that everyone warned her about him? Hours pass by and Rue has not yet run into Mrs. Jackie. It worried her considering how fast rumors spread about how fast Mrs. Jackie could tell the town about her past and have it catch up to her.

It was closing time and Mrs. Jackie hadn't shown up, which worried Rue. Rue closed the library and café locking it up. It was about five-thirty in the evening. Rue was hungry so she went to the nearest diner. Walking into the diner, Rue could feel the stares of the people. She quickly sat in a booth that was in the corner away from the people. After looking at the menu, a waitress finally comes up to her.

"What can I get you hon?" She asked holding her notepad and pen in her hand. "I would like to have a burger with a side of fries and for my drink, Pepsi would be fine" Rue replies as the lady writes it down. "Would that be everything?" The waitress asks once more. "Yes". The waitress walks away with her order. Rue looks around feeling the stares and the whispers of others.

She looks down at her hands letting her curls fall over her face. A few minutes later Rue receives her food. The sounds from the diner cause Rue to ignore the others. She focused only on enjoying the food. The bell to the diner went off letting them know someone walked inside. Soon the sounds all stopped and the only sound that was made was the sound of Rue's glass hitting the table. She looked up from the table and noticed two men dressed in suits and a figure in the middle she couldn't quite see.
