"Christian, how did you find this place?" Rue asks, taking steps backward as he comes inside. "I asked you a question first, love," he says, keeping his eyes on her. His deep accent flows out, especially with the word love. Rue starts to lose focus until she snaps herself out of it. "I'm going to visit my family for the weekend," Rue says, smiling. Christian smiles, wiping his mouth and revealing his tattoos and a ring that has an eye on it.
"What a beautiful lair you are, Ruella." Hearing her full name instead of her nickname felt different. Rue noticed his smile dropped, and he was no longer happy. "I want you to tell me the truth, and I will know if you're lying," he said. Rue felt chills down her back. "I was running away," she confessed. Christian began applauding her, "See, was that so hard."
"The next question is, why were you running?"
Rue didn't answer. Christian began to circle her. "Come on, don't be shy. Why were you running?" Rue took a deep breath before finding the courage. "I was running from you, Christian. I was running away from you."
Christian stopped in front of her again. He tucked a strand of her curly hair behind her ear. "Was that hard?" he asked. Rue moved his hand away. "Stop," she said. "I don't want to," he said.
"I asked you multiple times to leave me alone. I only asked you that one simple thing." Rue complained. Christian watched her intently. "Is there anything else you want to tell me?" he asked. Rue's eyes flickered up at him before she denied it.
Rue began to rush past him and open the door only for it to be slammed closed. Rue noticed a hand next to her head. She turned around, facing Christian as he placed his other hand beside her head, trapping her. "Did you think I would let you run away with my child you're carrying?"
Rue's breathing became unsteady. "How did you know?"I own this town. Nothing can avoid me," he said. "I can't do this. I will leave one way or another." Christian brought his face closer to her. "No. You will become my wife, and we will raise this child together," he said.
Rue could feel his breath on her nose. It smelt minty. "I can't marry you. Christian, you're a dangerous man. I don't want to become your possession." Rue explained. The tension between them was something else. "That night was different, and I've felt it. I know you did to Rue. The very same tension is still here." he said. She couldn't deny what he was saying because it was true.
"Fuck it," Rue said and pressed her lips against his. She wrapped her arms around his neck pulling him deeper into the kiss. Her fingers ran through his hair tugging it. Christian pulled her body closer to him. His hands grabbed her ass causing her to moan into the kiss. Christian took dominance as they both began to stubble and fall onto the sofa. Christian sat up and Rue straddled him.
Christian lifted her shirt taking it off. His hands touched her waist as she removed his shirt. Rue touched his chest, tracing his tattoos. He brought his hand up and placed it on the side of her face. She leaned in and placed her lips on his, finishing what they started.
.....
Rue opened her eyes and felt arms wrapped around her. Christian slept deeply, with his messy hair which looked sexy. Rue began to remove his arm from around her. She slowly sat up before being pulled down. Christian was wide awake and on top of her. "Leaving? I don't think so," he said. "No, I just wanted to use the bathroom," Rue replied. Christian let Rue up as she covered herself and went towards the bathroom. Closing the door after herself she sighed.
How could she possibly escape now? It was too late to say, she gave in. After using the bathroom, she grabbed her robe that hung behind the door on a hook. Rue wrapped it around her body and tied it walking out of the bathroom to see Christian already dressed. "Get dressed, I'll be waiting for you downstairs." Rue didn't get to say anything before he left out the door.
After getting dressed she went downstairs and saw a motorcycle with Christian on it. He handed her a helmet. Rue grabbed it and put it on before getting onto the back of it. "Hang on," Christian said, starting the motorcycle up. Rue wrapped her arms around Christian and rested her head against his back. They pulled off and Rue had no idea where Christian was taking her.
Rue closed her eyes the whole ride. She was about to welcome new things in her life. "We're here." Rue opened her eyes to see they were in front of a house. It was surrounded by trees and bushes. Rue got off the bike and stood there taking in her surroundings. It was in a somewhat excluded area. The house was not like any others, it was a mansion. "This is where you will live from now on," Christian said as he stood next to her.
Rue faced Christian. "No," she spoke without hesitation. "I will not live here. My apartment was just fine." Christian smiled, "You have no other choice. If you try to leave, I will find you every time. You are carrying my child." He then caresses her stomach. Rue's breath hitched from his sudden touch. His hands were warm. "This is the home we will raise our child and who knows maybe raise its sibling."
Rue removed his hand, "That will never happen." she said. Christian's eyes turned dark. "It might but for now, the baby you're carrying will, or there will be an accident at the town's library." he threatened. Rue stared into his dark eyes. She felt chills go down her spine. "Okay." she let out. Christian walked ahead of her as she followed behind.
"Good evening Mr. Yu." an older lady greeted along with other people. "Mrs. Sheila, would you be so kind as to show Rue around?" "Yes, sir." Christian disappeared somewhere leaving Rue with Sheila. "Ms. Rue, please follow me," Sheila said.
Sheila showed Rue where everything is and which rooms were off-limits before finally entering her room. "This is your room, Ms. Rue," she says and opens the door. Rue walked inside and noticed everything was magnificent. The bed was in better condition than the one in her apartment.
"Mr. Yu told us all about you and how you are carrying his baby. Congratulations!" Sheila said. "I don't know if it is a good thing anymore," Rue confessed. "Oh no, Ms. Rue. A baby is always a blessing in disguise. For you and Mr. Yu, it is indeed a blessing." Sheila replied. Rue looked at the older woman. "What is your relationship with Christian?" Rue asked. Sheila smiled and started to explain. "I was Christian's nanny and his mother's midwife. Poor Christian went through so much, he used to be sweet." "Sweet?" Rue scoffed, "He is a monster."
"Ms. Rue-"
"Just call me Rue." Sheila nodded before continuing, "Christian is sweet. It's just after the tragic accident he-."
"Mrs. Sheila, don't talk about my past while I'm not around," Christian said interrupting. Sheila nodded and left the two alone.
"Do you like the room?" Christian asked changing the topic. Rue sat down on the mattress. "It's alright." she lied. Rue was so happy about it but, she didn't want to let Christian know. "What's wrong with it?" he asked coming closer to her. "It's because you're in here," Rue said. Christian laughed, and Rue couldn't help but wonder if what Sheila told her was true.
Christian cleared his throat. "Just let me know if you need anything, my angel. For example, someone to cuddle you, sleep next to, or, repeat last night's actions," he said smirking. Rue's face turned red. "Leave," she said lightly pushing him. Christian loved to see her get flustered. Soon barking was heard and they both looked down at their feet.
"Oi," he said in his Aussie voice. "I almost forgot, this is my lovely dog, Lori." Rue smiled and petted Lori. Christian left the room so, Lori can get acquainted with Rue.
...
Later that night, the doorbell rang. Rue lay there awake before shuffling the covers off of her. She stood up and placed her slippers on. Opening her bedroom door and walking out going towards the stairs, she sees Christian down by the front door shirtless with a pair of pj pants on.
"Oh my gosh! Christian, it's so good to see you!" a woman came inside excited and was hugging up on Christian. She finally pulled away. "Kristy, what are you doing here?" he asked. "I just got back into town and decided to see you," she said. Rue moved towards the steps and started coming down them slowly.
Kristy took notice and asked, "Christian, who is she?"
