Rue drained the bath water and wrapped a robe around her body. She dried her hair a little with a towel. She opened the door and walked out of the bathroom. She was walking around the house when she stumbled upon the master bedroom and saw the reflection from the flames and Christian sitting in front of it. She walked in, and Christian looked up. She sat on the loveseat as she felt the heat from the flames.
The crackling sound of the fire filled the silence. Rue shivered a little from the coldness, but the fire kept her warm. "I know you don't want to talk about it, but I need to know," Christian started to say. "Is it true that you're pregnant?" he asked. Rue took a deep breath and slowly nodded her head. "Before you ask, yes, it is yours. It was conceived that night we slept together," Rue spoke.
Christian kept his composure, but he was really happy on the inside. He stood up and sat beside Rue on the loveseat. He took hold of her hand and held it in his. "I know the relationship we had in the past wasn't great, but I am willing to make it work only if you let me. If not, please allow me to be a part of and provide for my child. No matter what happens, Rue, you will always be part of my heart, and I will always love you."
Christian lifts his hand and tucks a curl behind Rue's ear. He leans in and presses his lips against her forehead. Rue's heart was racing, and her mind was confused. Christian then slowly stands up, "You can sleep in here tonight. I will have new clothes for you ready by the morning." He walks out of the room, leaving Rue by the fireplace.
Rue stood up and moved towards the bed. She pulled back the covers and climbed into the bed, getting under them. She lay in the bed staring up at the ceiling. She filled her mind with thoughts and feelings before she slowly drifted to sleep.
The next morning, she woke up and saw the fire had died. She removed the covers from her and stood from the bed. Rue noticed the pile of clothes on the loveseat. She grabbed them and got dressed. Rue searched around the house looking for Christian, but he was nowhere to be seen. She saw the plate of breakfast with a note beside it. The food was still warm. Rue picked the note up before reading it.
Good morning, I made some breakfast for you and I got the clothes for you. By the time you read this, I will be gone, but don't worry, I will be back, I needed to handle a few things. I will answer every question you have and tell you about important events that happened,
Love Christian
Rue put the note down. She sat down and started to eat the breakfast Christian made for her. A few hours later, Christian returned and saw Rue in the living room on the couch. He walked up to her and saw that she had fallen asleep. He smiled, seeing her peaceful state. Christian brought his hand and caressed her face. She stirred a little, but she didn't awake. Christian grabbed a blanket nearby and placed it over her.
Rue stirred again and opened her eyes to see Christian hovering over her with a blanket. Rue sat up as Christian moved away before Rue pulled his arm, making him sit down. "I have so many questions to ask, but first, I need to get this off my chest. Last night when you told me those things and how much you loved me, I never had the chance to tell you my answer," Rue said.
Christian waited for Rue to continue. "Christian, I love you. I want to give this relationship another try. I knew the last time we saw each other wasn't going to be the last. Especially with this life we created inside me. The point is, Christian, do you want to be with me?"
With no hesitation, Christian pulled Rue closer to him and crashed his lips onto hers. From that moment on, everything became wonderful and lovely.
5 months later
Rue is now six months pregnant. Christian and her found out they were going to have a boy, and they still are conflicted about names. Their relationship has been well, but they haven't taken the next step. CL wondered when Christian and Rue were going to become engaged and get married.
Rue and Christian moved into a small family home so they could be prepared for their little one. For once, Christian wanted to become a real family instead of acting like one. Christian took over his father's company alongside his mother.
Rue wanted to work with him as his secretary, but Christian didn't want her to risk her health. Now, here was Rue looking at baby decorations to finish the nursery. The colors were white, gray, and Macha green.
Rue looked in astonishment about the room. Christian watched Rue as he leaned against the door frame. "What are you thinking about?"
"I feel like something is missing, but I can't figure what exactly is," Rue replied, scanning the room. Christian pushed himself off the door frame and walked inside the room. "Baby, we have everything and possibly more in this room. What else could we have?" Christian asked.
Rue sighed and nodded her head. "You're right, I guess I'm overthinking things and trying to be prepared for when the baby arrives." Christian smiled and pulled Rue towards him as he placed his hands onto her hips.
"So, have you decided on a name yet?" Rue asked. "I thought that we both were going to find and agree on one?" Christian asked. "We are, I just wanted to know if you found one."
Christian then places a kiss on Rue's forehead. She closes her eye as he does so.
