Chapter Seven

A week went by, and Rue noticed some changes in Christian. He looked more tired, and she would catch him talking to himself. She wanted to check his prescription. Every time she would open his medicine cabinet, Christian would stop her. Rue wanted to help him because she could see his mental state was not right.

Something was going on, and those pills he had were a clue. Dabin came over and distracted Christian. Rue concluded with him about the pills and understood. He also told her about the other day when he saw Kristy.

Rue knew it was the pills. As Dabin distracted Christian, Rue went to the bathroom and opened the medicine cabinet. She searched through it and eventually found Christian's prescription. She grabbed it and opened the lid. She poured a couple of the pills into her hand. Grabbing one, she placed the rest back into the bottle and back onto the medicine cabinet shelf before closing it.

Rue looked at the pill and searched for a code or number she could use to look up the pills, but there was nothing. She needed to send this pill out to be tested so she knows what it is.

Dabin and Christian were in the back of the house where the studio was. They were making music. Rue looked for them until Mrs. Shelia told her where they were. Taking steps, she walked into the studio and saw Christian in the booth. Dabin watched as the producer set the track. Signaling that he was ready, Christian began to sing. Rue sat down as she watched, not knowing that he could sing.

Rue was utterly shocked. His voice was so memorizing when he sang on the mic. After hours, they finalized the song, and Christian stepped out of the booth. His eyes had dark circles. Rue could tell he was not getting enough sleep. His eyes were dark and scary. His hair is a mess.

"Ian, that song was dope," Dabin said. Christian chuckled lowly, and Rue felt chills. He stared at Rue. She didn't know what he was thinking. "I'm going to take a water break," Christian said and left. The producer also left, leaving Dabin and Rue alone.

"Did you find anything?" Rue nodded and pulled the pill out, showing Dabin. "I found this pill and searched for the code to search it up, but there is nothing," Rue said. Dabin carefully analyzed the pill. "I have a friend who can help. It may take a couple of days, though," he said.

Rue nodded understanding as he placed the pill into his pocket. Christian stood by the sink. Taking a sip of his water bottle, he noticed something. Placing the cap onto the bottle, he placed it down. A figure appeared before him. It was his father.

"What are you doing, Ian?"

"Why should I tell you? I hate you and can't wait to bring you down from that pedal stool you think mighty of. "

"Are you sure about that? You could never touch me until you get your mental state in check."

Christian grabbed a knife and swung it at the figure as it disappeared. He was breathing heavily. Rue then walked into the kitchen and noticed Christian's state.
