It was the next day, you and Glaivedriver were in the great hall with the gang trying to devise a plan on how they'd be defeating and questioning Viggo and Ryker once the ships were taken down. Hard decisions really since Ryker didn't usually open up to anything.
You sat on a table beside Heather, Hiccup and Fishlegs were standing up while everyone else was sat on the table awaiting the plan.
"We could just go in there and burn the place." Snotlout shrugged
"We can't do that Snotlout, we'll get caught too easily." Astrid stated
"We could just capture them and leave." Heather suggested
"Or we could leave Ryker to me and I can break every bone in his body." Dagur smiled
"That'd be awesome." Ruffnut said
"Ohh! Ooh! I want a front row seat!" Tuffnut exclaimed
"No one is breaking any bones or blasting them, we need a solid plan that'll guarantee a win." Hiccup informed
"I call the Zippleback boots then!" Dagur shouted
Barf and Belch roared in alarm before Sleuther looked at them and roared.
You didn't exactly like any of the plans, they were too brute and since it'd be happening in broad daylight you'd never be able to get anywhere, too risky and since Toothless and Glaivedriver are pretty dark colours the daylight would ruin the whole surprise plan.
Glaivedriver roared before you passed him a fish which he happily took, Glaivedriver would be catching up on his hunts tonight so he'd need a bunch of energy and what better way to gain it than from eating fish?
"Oh! We could try Heathers plan and shift it a little, we go at night and since they'd be nearing an island filled with cliffs we could definitely ambush them there." Fishlegs smiled
"But how would we execute it? We'd need teams but we're an uneven group." Astrid stated
"That means we'd need formations, exactly what me and Fishlegs were working on.
"We could do one duo, one trio and one group of four, Hiccup and Y/n can scout for Viggo and Ryker while me, Dagur and Snotlout watch for the fliers and hunters. Fishlegs and the twins can make sure to catch Viggo and Ryker if they slip away from Hiccup and Y/n." Heather said
"But isn't that Changewing island filled with cliffs? How would we find our way to them without getting hurt when running on foot?" You asked
"They'll be on foot, we won't. Viggo is usually trying to outsmart us while Ryker uses brute force, they can't do both and eventually it'll lead them towards us so we can take them to Berk to question them." Hiccup replied
Toothless roared happily.
"Wait! What'll we do if they have boats and get away on them?" Ruffnut asked
"Cant they just swim away too? Some dragons here can't swim." Tuffnut added
"When did they gain braincells?" Snotlout snorted
"That's... a pretty good question, what will happen? Meatlug isn't a good swimmer, no offence girl." Fishlegs said
Fishmeat roared while he sat on the table staring at Meatlug whom was beside her rider.
"We've got Sleuther, Toothless and Glaivedriver whom are able to swim pretty well. They can go get them if they do decide to swim." Hiccup stated
"Glaivedriver is also able to make small waves, don't forget." You smiled
Glaivedriver roared proudly before receiving another fish which he ate with no issue.
"Drown them!" Tuffnut yelled
"Drown them!" Ruffnut said
"We're not drowning them, that's the last thing we need to do." Heather replied
"No fun." Tuffnut grumbled
Glaivedriver roared in disappointment.
"So basically whatever you do go catch Viggo and Ryker?" You asked
"When you put it like that it sounds really weird." Astrid commented
"It's a wonderful plan! Me and Hookfang are gonna burn the place!" Snotlout exclaimed
"There are still Changewings on the island, we're gonna need to watch for those." Hiccup stated
"Well then, time to go Glaivedriver! Nightly hunt, see you tomorrow!" You said
You stood up and Glaivedriver roared happily before getting up too, you opened the Great Hall door which let Glaivedriver run out happily so you followed. You shut the door and proceeded to head for your hut. Glaivedriver left right after he had left the Great Hall and towards the woods.
You entered the hut and saw that Skullcrusher had entered right after you did and by the time he made it to his special spot Hiccup and Toothless were already at the door.
"Tomorrows the battle meaning that we're gonna need to let Gobber and Grump take the morning patrol and have Spitelout and Kingstail take the evening patrol. Night patrol won't matter I don't think." Hiccup sighed
Toothless roared and sat beside Skullcrusher whom moved his tail with no problem, Skullcrusher was a gentle dragon whom didn't mind others.
"Can't wait to go ruin Viggo and Ryker's egos. I've been waiting to do it for years. Glaivedriver too, sad that they're so on edge about him though. Bad for questioning." You stated
"Wait! That's perfect for questioning! They're on edge about him so they'll spill information, they've known me and the gang along with Dagur and Heather for years and they know that we won't do certain things but they don't know what Glaivedriver will do since Glaivedriver's a whole new species!" Hiccup suggested
Toothless roared at his rider in agreement and so did Skullcrusher.
"That is a good idea if I can get it through to Glaivedriver to not blast them or ram them into a wall or whatever he'd do, intimidation should be a good way to start it." You said
"That'll be our plan then, now that we've got that covered. Come on bud!" Hiccup exclaimed
He and Toothless went upstairs to their room, you'd go upstairs too while Skullcrusher would stay downstairs and wait for Glaivedriver to turn up again.
Skullcrusher slept downstairs and no one could do much about it, he didn't sleep anywhere else so you and Hiccup just let him. Glaivedriver felt a sort of guilt, losing a rider wasn't something Glaivedriver had to experience yet so he'd pay the most respect to Skullcrusher than any other dragon he'd ever meet. Skullcrusher was a pretty strong Rumblehorn physically and mentally.
You fell asleep after a few hours of staying awake, you had a big day ahead of you.
