Boy meets girl. Girl meets boy. He said yes. His family said yes. Her family said yes. And that was how Jewel and Jackson began their journey.
They did not meet much but had brief conversations on the phone once their marriage got fixed. He talked about work most of the time. Not that Jewel understood any of it, but she never expressed anything, because it was bothering her that she never talked to him about Rolex.
At times, Jackson talked about his mother and how much she struggled to raise him. Lizzy martin was warm towards Jewel but not too sweet. She wanted a daughter-in-law, not a daughter.
From what she had learned about Lizzy Martin, Jewel developed a sense of respect for her. She was divorced at the age of 32. Jackson was 10 years old and Vivian was 5. She moved to Iris Vallis with her mother and two sons and raised both of them into capable members of the society by working as a tailor in a local tailoring shop which has now expanded into a boutique.
She doesn't work there anymore. Instead, she has hired young graduates from fashion schools to explore their creativity there.
Single moms are prefered for tailoring works. They worship her.
It would be a lie to say that Lizzy wasn't irked when Jewel said she wanted to wear her mother's wedding gown and not her future mother-in-law's gown which was especially designed for her future-daughter-in-law with lots of care. Many girls would have killed to wear that fancy, shiny, silk gown whereas Rebecca's simple organza gown was Jewel's choice.
He talked about how naughty Viviaan could be and that he was was wiser than you think. But he never said anything about his father. Guess both of them had stories they would rather hide.
Jewel also talked... about her work, family, Mira and slowly she got comfortable enough to share about the counselling and further therapy she received when she was 17, when she was struggling to get into medical school. But she skipped the part where she met Rolex there for the first time. In fact, she had never missed a session because of him.
Jackson always listened to her patiently and gave honest replies. Sometimes too honest to make her heart sting a bit.
Just like that, in a span of 4 months, Jewel found herself in a wedding gown on a warm Sunday evening.
An off shoulder plane off-white colored A-line gown. Her hair styled into a low bun. A diamond necklace, simple earrings and diamond bracelet. She did not take off her white sneakers though.
"Wow..You kind of look like a girl, Jewel" Jude has his own way of complimenting his younger sister.
"I shall ignore you just said that, Pig head" Jewel was expecting that. Someone laughed along with her.
"Nice one, soon to be Mrs.Jackson!"
Ahh! Mira! Jude's love of life and Albert's Ms. Perfect. Jewel's most favorite person of the family. Right on time. What does she do for a living??
Surprise...Another surgeon in the making. She is doing her third year residency.
They were the same age but Mira is now senior to Jewel thanks to her amazing brain!
"HEYYYY!!!!!! You should have come earlier....... " Jewel complained as she gave Mira a side hug.
"She is busy, Jewel. So glad you are here, Mira" Albert walked in with a bright smile. He had come with a bouquet- Jewel's wedding bouquet.
It was made of fresh Lilly and Iris flowers arranged in way that complimented each other .
He handed the bouquet to Jewel and tapped Mira's shoulder.
