"You guys should have seen the crowd. Once I stopped, I couldn't believe that they were actually cheering for me!ME!!!"
It was dinner time and Viviaan was going on and on about the performance he gave at College fest.
He looked the happiest, though it wasn't easy. It took him a while to convince Lizzy to let him follow his passion.
Just like any other asian mother, Lizzy declared
"Finish your graduation and then we will see!"
"My friends told me I shined the most when I was on stage!"
Jackson laughed, just to irritate Viviaan.
"Why won't you believe me! I said I am good at this!"
"Really? Jewel? What do you think?"
"Pardon?..."
Jewel has been lost ever since she came back from meeting Mira and Jackson knew something was bothering her.
"Seriously? What happened,Jewel? All ok?"
"Ya... I was just.....feeling a bit... I think I am full."
She returned the plates while Lizzy protested,
"she barely ate"
Jackson signalled her to just let her be.
Once she left, Lizzy asked
"She barely ate, Son"
"She looks upset"
Viviaan also added.
"Your divorce date hearing is close. Is that what is making Jewel upset?"
Lizzy asked again.
"Why would she be upset about that! She should be free, ASAP!"
Jackson said with a faint sad smile.
"Why are you so sure she isn't?"
"I just know. Its something else."
He didn't need to directly hear it from her.
He promptly got up and went to the kitchen, nicely chopped and crushed some ginger, cut a lemon into half and placed four cups of water with tea leaves in it.
Once the tea boiled,he added the ginger and some cinnamon and let it boil for few more seconds.
Once the tea was ready, he added some sugar, squeezed half a lemon,mixed them well and strained it into a cup.
Voila!
Jackson's upgraded version of Sulaimani tea ready.
Ever since he tasted it for the first time, Jackson was pleasantly addicted to it and so was his family.
"Hey"
After serving it to his mother and brother, Jackson went to his room with two cups of hot sulaimani.
Jewel was seated on the bed and was applying moisturizer to her leg.
"Oh,sorry. I should have knocked."
Jackson was a bit startled.
Jewel laughed
"Oh,please...You have seen me naked before"
'What! Did she..'
Awkwardness was slowly creeping in and Jewel said
"Oh,wow! Sulaimani? Is that for me?"
He smiled and handed her a cup.
"How is it?"
He asked eagerly after sitting next to her and she went on full food critic mode.
"Well, its a refreshing blend of the spiciness of ginger, sweetness of cinnamon and the tanginess of lemon,all wrapped in sugar. A total blend of rich aromatic flavours ....I would say 4/5"
