Maria POV:
"Mm.."
Its so warm~ Did I have a heated bed? I guess Nathan could own one...
I snuggled deeper into the blankets, my hands rubbing against the loose sheets and brushing across the mattress. Wait- were mattresses always so..soft?
As my fingers pressed against the firm surface..it moved. Not much but- enough.
A deep chuckle filled the air and I felt someone move a strand of hair behind my ear.
"Morning beautiful~" Nathan's husky voice and soft breath danced around my ear. I sighed and rolled back over.
"You know, I'd probably be mad at you if I wasn't so comfy" I hugged.
"Is breakfast ready?" I mumbled, probably incoherently, but I didn't care. He can use his super power to guess what I want. That's totally how it works... trust me, I would know.
"Breakfast...right. Yeah..it'll be done when you wake up love." He said softly.
See? It's magical. I am ALL KNOWING!
Nathan POV:
I could die happy if I woke up like this every morning. The first thing I see when I open my eyes, is an angel. A grumpy, hungry, beautiful angel.
Yeah, and she wants breakfast.
I sighed, and carefully held her in my arms as I got up, before placing her back down on the couch and wrapping the blanket around her.
"Let's see what we can cook up..."
As I searched through the cupboards as quietly as possible, I came across some pancake mix.
Pancakes are a breakfast item right?
Why are you asking me?
...right
I've never been much of a breakfast person... but it should be fine...it's got instructions...
I could feel Maxine giving me pity looks. And scuffing.
I rolled my eyes and began cooking.
Maria POV:
Sniff~
What's that?
Sniiiiiff~
I groaned as I rolled onto my side, then sat up rubbing my eyes and yawning.
"Hmmmghbmmww~"
"Your awake just in time" A deep voice greeted me.
I squinted my eyes and looked around the room, letting my eyes adjust to the light.
A sweet smell filled the room and my stomach grumbled.
Nathan chuckled and walked towards me, a plate and glass in his hands.
"Hungry?~" He asked.
"Are you magic..." How'd he know...
He gave me a slopped grin and placed the plate and glass on the coffee table.
Mmm~ pancakes and orange juice. He knows me do well~
I smiled.
"Dig in" He laughed.
Was I drooling?
I blushed and thanked him for the food.
Not long after he joined me with his own plate, and we ate in a comfortable silence.
Not bad.
"Ish thwer hnysing ywo cnt dew?" Is there anything you can't do- I asked..well- mumbled between bites...
He tilted his head in a thinking manner, then shrugged.
"Hmm... I'm not a very good artist"
I narrowed my eyes at him questioningly.
"Not very good?" I asked.
He sighed and took out a pen from his pocket, before grabbing my hand and doodling.
I giggled. "That tickles!"
He looked up at me then back to my hand, a lazy smile on his face.
When he was done and my hand was safely back to my fork, I looked at what he drew.
My eyes went from him to the drawing a few times, before I cleared my throat.
"I guess god was fair." I grinned.
He glared at me in a teasing manner.
"It's a dog." He said.
"A dog?"
"A dog."
"..."
He huffed. And I burst out laughing and nudged his shoulder.
"It's very...cute~" I giggled and he smiled at me. It was like he was looking at the most precious thing in the world. I blushed deeply and drank my juice.
God was fair.
I peeked at him through my lashes.
To some more than others~
