"Juliette, honey, I made breakfast." My mom said shaking me slightly. I opened my eyes, very confused, and cold.I mustered a nod so my mom knew I was getting up. She left my room and I looked at my clock. 9:07.
I sat up, so tired, it wasn't even funny. I looked at my desk sitting across from me to see Josh's jacket sitting on the chair. I smiled having all of the memories flood back from the previous night.
I grabbed my phone and walked out of my bedroom.
I looked to see I had a text from Maya and Josh. I felt my heart skip when I read Josh's name. Why was he texting me?
I opened the thread with Josh to read the text.
Good morning Juliette.
I stared at the phone surprised he texted, weren't guys usually supposed to like ignore you? That's what they do in the movies and books. Except it wasn't a 'date,' so maybe it's different?
Good morning Joshua
I sent the message and went to answer Maya.
"Jule, off your phone." My mom said.
I silently put my phone away and sat down at the table to eat breakfast.
It was quiet for the most of the meal, considering me and my brother had just woken up.
I helped my mom cleaning up since my brother disappeared.
"So, Juliette." She said turning around to look at me. "Would you indulge me on the adventures you and Mr. Kiszka had last night?"
"Well." I said pausing to think. "He picked me up. We ate at Zehnders, we drove around some and went to this really cool store, I can't remember the name though. And then we looked at the stars. I taught him about Orion and the Scorpion."
"That sounds very nice." She said. "But don't play dumb with me."
"What?" I asked startled by her wording.
"What happened, you know like the details." She said.
I laughed at my moms eagerness. I never talked about boys much, she was obviously very happy about this.
"I don't know." I said. "It wasn't a date, technically, so like there wasn't too much juicy things."
"Nothing?" She asked disappointed.
"Not really." I answered, slightly disappointed myself. "Except, he did say something like, you look like you're glowing in the starlight."
"Oh my gosh." She said. "That's so cute, there has to be more than that."
I thought for a moment about the restaurant to remember anything.
"He did say he wanted to meet you." I smiled.
"He's in love with you." She said.
"What? No." I said surprised.
"He wants to meet the mom? That's like code for I wanna marry you." She said.
"No, mom, Josh doesn't 'love' me." I said.
"Did you say Josh loves you?" Jaylen asked walking into the room.
"No, no, no, no." I said waving my hands. "I was saying Josh doesn't love me."
"Do you love him?" Jaylen asked confused.
"No, Josh is in love with her." My mom added literally not helping me out at all.
"I should tell him that." Jaylen smirked.
