// Returning to my old ways for this book, like The Vampire Club.
Chelsie's POV
It was like any other boring day of work. Tons and tons of paperwork. I guess I should be thankful for having this job, as it gives me some decent pay, but nothing really excites me anymore but that was life. Life was boring. I just couldn't wait to get home to my girlfriend. "Come on, Chelsie. You can get through this." my boss gave me some 'words of encouragement', making me sigh and placed my hands on the keyboard of my small laptop, continuing from where I left off.
"Actually, guys, we have a new person joining our team." my boss then suddenly said, causing me to lift my head up to see that new person. She was quite attractive, to be fair. But, she wasn't really my type and she looked kind of like a geek anyway with those big red glasses. "Hello everyone, it's a pleasure to meet you all. I'm Myra." Myra introduced herself to the team, making us wave at her since it was our thing that we did from the start of the company. The boss turned to Myra with a bright smile on her face, "I have assigned your seat already, you are next to Chelsie. She'll explain everything to you." she told her cheerfully. Why me?
I went to raise my hand to decline, but Myra came over to me and sat at the desk next to me, sitting on the office chair. She's got some nice brown eyes, like dark chocolate. Wow, I was hungry. Speaking of hungry, my stomach rumbled. Fuck, I forgot to eat lunch...
"So, what do you do?" Myra asked me, making me snap back into reality. I cleared my throat, gesturing with my hand over to my laptop screen. "Oh cool, so you are helping out a university?" she asked, "Yeah. I answer the emails." I replied. "And you'll be doing the same, like answering emails and stuff." I added, getting lazy with my responses as my brain felt like it was turning into mush by the second. I just wanted to have my day off with my girlfriend...
"Something tells me you aren't supposed to be here." Myra then said, as she tied her black hair up into a ponytail. I then looked around, then leaned towards her, "Today was supposed to be my day off, I tried to say no but our boss threatened to take away my job." I said quietly into her ear, causing her to look at me with widened eyes, as if something had struck her nerve.
I then turned back to my laptop, which made the time go by like a flash.
It was then 4pm, which was the end of my shift. I shut down my laptop, unplugging it from the charger and began to put it away until my boss walked over to me, and placed her hand on my shoulder, causing me to stop what I was doing. Everyone else apart from me and Myra, began to head home.
The whole office then was dead silent, so silent that you could hear something drop.
"Chelsie, I know I asked you to come here on your day off and I personally apologise. But, this is a way of learning."
"A way of learning? Seriously?"
"That's one hour."
"One hour of what?"
"Staying behind. If you continue to back chat me."
"I'm fucking 22 years of age, Jen."
"That's two hours now."
Suddenly, I began to hear growling from behind.
"She is going home, whether you like it or not, Jen."
